i havent played for a while on my quest 2 i played rec room on it today and found many games empty in my opinion if rec room wants to become better they should bring back the old bean body, listen to the community more often, and bring back the weekly challenges most games in rec room are empty rec room still has a chance to improve so more players could come back and i saw videos of rec room staffs being fired and i noticed many rec room youtubers quitting the game and many people are complaining that rec room is money grabbers since u have to buy energy which costs tokens and rr+ to have the roomie thing for a while.
#Rec room is dead?

old bean sucks
it was crazy unoptimized
and you need money for roomie for a reason
chatgpts API costs money
Rec Room isn’t dead, still has an active player base even if it’s been at an all time low recently
its true
for the roomie u have to buy two things
why not js keep it one
instead of buying rr+
“I don’t see players in a game what do I blame?”
Old bean!
“I see things I don’t like, what do I blame?”
Devs not listening to the community!
“I have no proper English and I don’t know that fired and laid off are different things!”
“Rec room is greedy!”
“Roomie and RR+ suck!”
“Bring weeklies back!”
It’s literally the same crap with RR haters over and over and it’s so predictable lol
What’re you gonna say next, “oh but old bean is more classic therefore it’s more optimized”, or “rec room lost players because of old bean” without knowing anything about the gaming industry
This is the worst take I've ever seen.
Old Bean body most likely will not return. It was outdated and in the recent Keynote was explained it was limiting for the Rec Room artists team when they were around. It's not returning and everyone who wants it back is sadly being nostalgia-baited.
Weekly Challenges are not returning either. Profile Badges and the recent Battle Pass in Paintball has replaced it.
They were not fired, they were laid off. Learn the difference. Being fired is a buzzword. They were laid off as the company couldn't pay them for their work.
Roomie requires energy as he runs of ChatGPT (from what I recall), which has a set price of one character per X cent. So they require a lot of money to run, hence why energy is the currency they use. It's a win win. Rec Room gets enough money for X amount of Roomie Energy to power it, the consumer can see how many characters/responses they have left.
Also Regarding the "servers being mostly dead" there's a few factors as to why.
-
Creator Expo and Creations Con being on these next two weeks will probably contribute to people being in those rooms more than the main RROs.
-
It's not quarantine anymore. Most people have moved on because COVID-19 is over, and the game has stopped peaking because people aren't stuck inside.
-
It all depends on what maps you play. Rec Royale may be dead due to lack of interest, but Paintball, Golden Trophy, Laser Tag and many mainstay modes are quite active.
The game isn't dead.
It's just got different factors stacked against it. Which is understandable.
Also "Listen to the community" what do you think the Rec Room plus chat is for? If you want to see them listening to the community look in there and sort by Gribbly's messages, or Jeff's messages, or even Max Powers'.
Hell they did a whole keynote when they didn't even have to.
i wasnt even blaming old bean for players not being in games
When did i say old bean is more classic im only sharing my opinion theres a reason why tons of rec room youtubers r quitting
n im not a rr hater lol like how i said im just sharing a opinion
Why not bring weeklies back in my opinion its way better than the dailys tbh
I’ve been playing many famous games n now its all empty
barely any players
Even before covid it was famous
its not covid
Maybe bcs ppl r growing up who knows but theres many rr youtubers quitting
n its not only youtubers many players r quitting i rlly hope doesnt die
Yeah, "Famous" games. That's a very high bar for a game that's ten years old.
lily revenge which was rlly famous fell off
I'm just saying that not every game can hit thousands of people.
Rec Room luckily hits probably 10k a day, maybe more than that
The numbers are private.
true but the player rate is decreasing
Source?
I dont rlly have a source but u can see for ur self many popular games r now basically dead
"Source: trust me bro".
If you actually check the Steam Charts (which aren't a reliable source but anyway, that's all we have public) the numbers have actually been stalling/going up.
Like how i said i dont have a source
nope if u join games that were rlly popular for example ignitted bonnie (sorry if i spelled it wrong) used to be popular n now there isnt alot of ppl
You do realise times change right? Those players have probably moved on to other Rooms.
Go to Black Cat for instance. There's probably 10-20 lobbies open at once.
People changing their interests does not equal dead game.
tbh there isnt many pvp games anymore
servers used to be full
now its less
theres a reason why rr youtubers quit
There is a few. I don't play them personally but I know there's still a PvP community.
"Bring back old bean"
What have RR youtubers got to do with player numbers? I could say most popular Minecraft YouTubers quit, but does that mean Minecraft died?
No
whats the problem w the old bean body its just a opinion
u don’t need rr+ for roomie anymore
whats the problem with the new one
it got changed so its bad
its not rlly that good
so were jst saying its bad without any specific reasoning on why it is bad
unless any one of you would like to come fourth and say those reasons
Elaborate
this makes more sense than some of the actual complaints ive seen 😭
I predict the most activity in RR will happen this Friday due to Creations Con or Christmas due to the little Timmys getting a new vr
It's in limbo, but not dead. Until it gets out of its coma, it's in limbo.
So, we've had; "Oh yeah the games are dying but I have no source", "I don't like new bean but I don't want to elaborate", "they don't listen to the community" and "bring back weekly challenges".
I hope you know CinemaSins is still hiring.
I can send you literally evidence of the team listening to feedback from yesterday.
The game isn't dead.
