#How to bypass/fix shapes changing size when using scale in one direction

I don't really know why this is happening since each shape was rotated and move with grid snapping
maybe im missing something? I really dont know 
**this also occurs both in world and local mode
it actually even does this even if I only stretch it a little bit
Havent found a solution yet but had to find a work around by just re-manipulating the shapes to where they needed to be
however if a permanant solution is found please let me know 
You have to edit into the shape first, then select everything and scale
And make sure the ends of each shape you're stretching are all aligned/the same length
the thing is though is thats what ive been doing
also encountered another issue
wheres before it would only slightly change each shape it now greatly affected each shape as whole
I still dont understand why this happens...
