I could see people being hyped for roomie for rr+, but then get gutted by the fact you have to spend more money to use it more often

They don't have to spend money. We are covering a set amount as a bonus to RR+ subscribers for free. We would put ourselves at financial risk to cover an unlimited amount. We changed Roomie to energy because the unlimited usage bills were much higher than what was being paid for RR+.

it’s an ai companion to take to rooms that is locked behind a membership. Why not just bring a real friend instead of an ai? Also I heard the ai is rlly expensive to cover atm. If that’s the case, you guys should NOT invest in ai. Not only does ai have a bad rep in most cases, but I’ve seen you guys have been using ai quite a lot recently. Obviously there is the controversial maker ai that’s completely destroying the point of the creativity. I don’t think I know a singular person that woke up one day and was like “hey, people can’t make friends on our game, so let’s make an ai for them.” Like don’t you think that sounds a lil silly? I really hope the “going back to ur roots” doesn’t mean ur just gonna hope using AI slop will fix ur game. I’m hoping you guys read the feedback by the actual players and not just by rectubers. You gotta remember, you gotta think about what comes first. The fan base, or the corporal greed.

Because again, let’s be honest, nobody actually asked for this ai stuff to be added to the game. As much of a cool idea this may have seemed, locking this behind rr+, aswell as a $20 paywall, is just doing too much. You guys have great ideas, but execute them horribly.

What I’m trying to say is, please do NOT invest in ai. There is so much other stuff you can invest in that isn’t slop like ai. Listen to ur playerbase on what they want from you guys, I’ve seen a lot of people want a new RRO, a psvr2 port, or even content updates on the older RRO’s. There’s so much better things that the community actually wants that could benefit for you guys. Make stuff the community wants, they’ll consider using their money on the game.

Gotta remember aswell, look where the greed got you guys. You were doing so well and it just all fell apart, figure out what happened, and find out how to come back from that

We can not have a day pass. Usage costs vary. Some Roomie actions are cheaper, and some are more expensive. We have energy as a break-even price, so you pay for how much or how little you use Roomie.

AI usage isn't the only thing we are working on. We have a lot of staff working on Fests/Seasons too. We have staff running little promotions that add fun to the community (Dress to Quest, Buy Fly to Ascend, Shady Deals, Cashback, etc).
Porting to PSVR2 isn't worth the financial risk. We are very unlikely to recover the costs of the port from PSVR2 players.
Roomie has costs, we are not locking it behind a paywall per say. We are asking users to pay the costs of their Roomie usage after their RR+ energy runs out. Not everyone likes Roomie, and that's ok. We have a lot of players who love Roomie, and that's ok, too.
Going back to our roots meant building fast and cutting the red tape. Six weeks passed between Roomie being created by an initially very small team and being in players' hands. That's why when VPs saw Roomie at week 4/5, Roomie had some upgrades when it reached everyone's hands, and Roomie is still being actively worked on. Previously, it would have been 3, 4, or 5 months of development time before Roomie reached players' hands. Working fast allows us to actively move our staff around to apply dev staff where needed.
