What happened to the UI😭

I haven’t played rec room in a couple years and I just played this morning and I was shocked. Full body avatars?! Completely overhaul watch interface? What was wrong with the old one. Also, is it just me or is there more kids on adult accounts?

Is there more screen mode players now? Is that why the watch is 2D?

Yea. The majority of players are on screen mode, so it makes sense why the watch would be a bit more tailored to them

Ohh ok I get but why isn’t there just a legacy watch option? You would think they would add that instead of scrapping all of the old UI’s

It probably has to do with how the different hierarchies can't mesh well or something. Not entirely sure. Like for example, if new menus are added they would have to update old, outdated code

Oh my god… I just saw a short by rec room themselves saying they are gonna “sunset the classic bean avatar”. WHY???

The old bean avatar is obselete and outdated, and has poorer performace. The new bean avatars animate better, run better, and allow the devs to do more with them. The new beans look barely any different from old bean in most ways, so it's alright

Bean itself isn't going anywhere. We still have the new bean, and full body

I just hate the stupid hand animations they make me sick. Also I have to remake my avatar so it actually looks good when I switch to the new one

You'll adjust, don't worry. I love my new bean, my avatar looks so much nicer compared to old bean

Most of the new RROS are pretty fun, and they have UGC now! (only for selected ppl for now)

The new watch is in testing with us. The watch before it was also 2d and laggy as shit. You can see the old watch by going in vr. There also making a vr varrient of the new watch menu there making now. But it isn't known what it will look like. But it will probably have the 3d buttons
