I couldn't really tell you but as long as the payment was made before you didn't have ownership, then you should be fine. BUT, I will tell you that selling maps is definitely against T.O.S so I would say be careful with just openly talking about it.

Offering said permission to people in exchange for tokens is not allowed.

this also goes for things OUTSIDE of recroom. you cannot do contests/raffles giving away tokens outside of recroom, so therefore you cant sell maps anywhere

I know they were in the talks during a research lab email they said that they were in the talks for creating payable room ads on Rec Room. So you can buy the ability for your room to show up on peoples watchs through token payment. Kinda like roblox.

You may not sell rooms inside the game through keys, consumables, or any token offering way. You can sell rooms outside of this game as it'll be classified as a 'commission'. (examples are like real life currency)

Token earnings you earn during a week will be given out next week when you get your RR+ benefits

Wouldn't that kinda be a legal loophole in a sense for the fact that within' that same T.O.S rule it states that real currency isn't allowed for the basis of room and event promoting giveaways?

Would promoting giveaways also apply to the idea of promoting and offering to an individual such as selling a room?

Rooms and events promoting

Which means if they're promoting it, it's bannable and this is inside RR. Anything outside the game is up to that social media platform and their ToS and Code of Conduct if it breaks their rules. If the room or event is not promoting it, it's fine.

Rec Room is fine with selling rooms/maps as long as the deal and everything is done outside the game, and I think if it doesn't involve this transcation/payment with Rec Tokens

The last part I can be wrong (about the Rec Tokens) but everything else I know 100% to be factual

That makes a bit more sense I suppose. It's kind of like selling on Facebook marketplace, and using a third party banking system. If anything were to go wrong with say... the transaction, or something like a scam happened. Facebook isn't completely liable for what happens outside of their application.

But with this whole room selling situation, I do hope there is a bit more transparency in the future for it. I have seen alot of mixed opinions/reasons on if its bannable or not. Thank you so much for clearing up some of the misunderstandings!

With what you said about using third party banking system, it's exactly like that. My personal opinion would be as you said, so Rec Room isn't hold liable for whatever happens with the transaction/agreement/payment of the 'comission'
