its happened infront of mods and they did shit beside kicking the guy
He would've been timed out and reported by them. They can't appeal a ban if they were punished by the vmod
thats assuming they were doing their job correctly
And if they don't, is that Rec Room's fault?
yes, they hired a vmod that couldnt do their job.
if they hire moderators that dont do their job, thats on them. im also using recroom refering to the shitty moderation system
Hired a volunteer...?
Anyways, they can't control what their vmods do, and how can they know if the vmods aren't doing what they're meant to without any proper proof?
perchance they should actually check the vmods every now and then, one called someone a racial slur in an event, instead of some shitty fill out sheet they could do an actual interview and check if they actually would do their job.
What if they... lie..? 🤯
what if... instead of hiring random mfs they hired trusted people that dont have a history of screaming slurs..? 🤯
quit the passive aggresive shit ong 🙏🙏
And if they don't have a history of yelling slurs? Obviously they're gonna check people's moderation history. No one is stopping these vmods from randomly going around and doing stuff
why not do background checks, i interview people before i give them mod in my game and interview people they're associated with, if its easy enough for me, one mf, then itd be easier for a million dollar game corp
Yes, Volunteer mods have their moderation history reviewed
This year all new vmods were recommended by current vmods
That might've been dcms actually, or both
Al I’m hearing is “Vmods don’t do their jobs” from these past few replies.
Recruiting volunteer moderators:
normally rec room will have sign ups for Vmods in which it is required you are at least 17-18. The community team does check these users past moderation history for the case they have done something INCREDIBLY bad.
Volunteer mods doing their “jobs”:
Vmods are 9/10 times trying to keep the community safe but really are just normal players at the end of the day.
The only thing different about Vmods are that they have a special option to put text over their head, and that they have a higher report weight, Vmods timing out people is the same as normal players reporting people, but support will see them as trusted players and believe the report to be more accurate.
If a vmod is found with proof to be corrupt in some way, their role will be removed.
