This new update will give the option to players to be able to speak to their friends by voice chat without being in the same room together.

So basically to talk with your friends using voice chat you needed to be in the same room with them.

Now with this update you do not need to be in the same room anymore. You both can be in different rooms and communicate via voice chat.
