Those are circuit boards, you put circuits inside them, it could be anything.
The second one seems to just have a delay chip, the first just looks to be a normalise vector chip and a vector get magnitude chip below it

You place the circuit board obviously, to put circuits in it you can edit it an you place stuff down on it, to add ports onto the circuits board you configure it
You can also select a group of circuits and turn it into a circuit board
