hallo, i'm looking for a way for students to make a presentation in recroom. First i don't think just presenting a powerpoint is not a thing i want them to do. would it be possible if i thought of some subjects for them to cooperate on creating a room that presents that subject. Like realy simple example is subject cat. can they then create a room were they show of everything they love/know about cats?

They can make a wall with text and with some cv2 or even cv1 you can show a new page just form a click of a button

#

Or the text switches

On pc vr there are desktop screens to show your desktop where you can show the presentation

#

But for non pcvr players they have to make it ingame

#

Or the person sends the presentation to someone who has the share screen and he will change pages

You can really do anything in your own rooms. Think of it like a 3D sandbox.

Well I’m just thinking too far ahead

Building, Circuitry (Rec Room's visual scripting system), Art (using the drawing tools and canvas), etc.

#

You can also take pictures using the in-game camera. The pictures instantly get saved to the website so you can extract them from there.

#

Running with your cat example, I just made a really bad cat plush in one of my rooms.

If anything, I think your biggest concern would be making sure all the students are able to access Rec Room. While it is on many platforms, you'd still need a decent up-to-date device to run it assuming that you're having them work on this at home. If a student had an old unsupported mobile device and an old office computer/laptop, you can't really be certain that they'd be able to access Rec Room at home.

#

Unless.. your school offers Oculus Quest headsets for them to use? 👀 That'd be pretty cool. You don't really see many schools doing things like that these days.

yhe they have vr headset available at school

#

i have 25 mins for 4-5 students, i want to send them on their way in rec room in like 4 weeks and then after they are able to work on the room every week

#

i can see if they are allowed more time to work on it

#

the students in question also follow metal working and electricity so i might want to find subjects closer to that, like the workings of a car or something
