Why not play something else?
because theres no direct alternative to Rec Room. imo RR hits the perfect middle ground between something like Horizon Worlds and something like VRChat/Roblox. it has a very grounded and stylized art style, and isnt nearly as free/open as something like VRChat. That's one of the only things that keeps me playing the game. I adore Rec Room's artstyle and aesthetic. Although, its obvious that they're trying to compete with Roblox and VRChat instead of being its own thing, with RRS, Full Body Avatars, and now UGC avatar items. They also teased custom avatars in the latest FBA blog post, which is a terrible idea. Not only does it detriment the entire game's art direction and aesthetic, but it also raises major moderation concerns for all the children that play the game. i miss what this game was back in 2019 when i started.
