When I playing recroom with Quest2 standalone, performance is quite poor (especially if it is a heavy world. Like 15~ 20fps??)
Perhaps recroom is currently optimized to the maximum extent possible, but I think there is still more that can be done, if not still insufficient.
so, here are some things that could be done to improve performance
First, implement ASW (Application Space Warp) in recroom. This complements frames and doubles the perceived FPS. There are some problems with this, but it would be a very effective means of doing so.
And As a Experimental feature, it would be better if it could be enabled/disabled from the settings.
Graphics settings, which can be set to low/high on PCs and smartphones, would be nice to have in Quest2 as well. It would be nice to have the current quality as high and the low setting as lower resolution, texture resolution and shadow quality.
In addition to this, using ASW would be perfect (except that the graphic quality would be Potato💀)
Other Improvement
I don't have a specific idea for this, but it applies to reduced memory usage and more advanced optimization. I think it would be possible to increase the FPS from what it is now by using features that are only available on Quest2 and making the most of the available features as much as possible.

ASW isn't such a good idea as it needs gpu headroom to actually work and if it drops and goes into -% then it's not worth it at all because it wouldn't be doing anything also on pc oculus broke it a while ago and it doesn't even work anymore unless it was fixed but tried it recently and got better performance not using so again ASW isn't worth especially for an quest 2 and that doesn't have a dedicated gpu.
Hmmm, well, at least it seemed to work well in PokerStars VR and Roblox, where ASW is implemented, and basically 72~90 fps in feel. (Roblox not so much, but it should be better.) So I thought it would be nice to have that in Recroom as well. At least there would be quite a difference between having it and not having it. No matter how many headrooms we need, it's just better to have.
Still you'd get worse performance no matter what and also it probably wasn't doing anything for you because again it was broke a while ago and it probably just let you play at your display capped fps
You want better fps? Go on sidequest and turn your res down and turn off chromatic abbreviation or whatever it was called and hope for the best
Well So you are saying that ASW was broken before and is currently not working properly (not complementing the frame anymore)?
It doesn't work anymore and hasn't for ages
And why use it anyway it was trash to begin with
Better keeping that thing off
Well, if you're going to go that far, maybe so, but you're wrong about ASW not working. Well, maybe if you use it on a PC, but not on Quest2. try the Quest2 version of Roblox or PokerStars VR. It works perfectly and you can feel the effects well.
And I have already tried that. It worked a little, but still not much. Even if I were to do it, that's what you should do when you want to increase resolution, and I still do that when I increase resolution.
Then just keep complaining because they aren't gonna fix the performance it seems
"They aren't gonna fix the performance it seems"
That's why I made the suggestion. People have made few suggestions about it. All we can do is complain like this, or buy Quest3, or use Sidequest to improve performance little bit
This suggestion is the one we all keep suggesting since 2020 pal
The way the game is made makes the fps trash and even if you buy the quest 3 it's most likely still gonna run pretty trash
Not really cuz Quest3 has twice the GPU performance and 8GB of memory (expected), so there should simply be a slight improvement in graphics quality and increase in FPS. (like 20 or 30 fps increase)
they just need to add video settings in the settings menu
one thing that every game needs at the bare minimum
recroom STILL doesn't have
Already implemented in the PC and smartphone versions
only the Quest version is missing
Q3 GPU/CPU specs aint released yet so we dont know if it's double or just "150%"
either way, double the performance would still not be good enough (the Quest 2 graphics are lower than LOW than on a low end LAPTOP)
I'm happy with 20 fps
How
Same
how do you guys play in 20fps
Because I'm used to it
How
Just not having a good pc
i dont even have a good laptop
So you have around 20 fps to??
How can you actually see your fps in RR?
ok one sec.
Mobile Platforms (Android, iOS): you cant
Virtual Desktop [quest/pico]: press both joysticks on both controllers
Steam/PC: use steam's built-in FPS counter or a 3rd party app
quest2 standalone: there ws a 3rd party app i remember or im just crazy
Oh, so there is no ingame way to see it
yeha sadly
21 fps in dorm
tf
with the lowest graphic setting
While standing still
