#Streamer Cam Suggestion

On other platforms it wouldn’t make any sense to have a streamer cam
And also
You need two screen to be able to use streamer cam
If you’re just using it standalone it wouldn’t work because you need one monitor for the stream can and one for the game
Even on Screen PC you need two monitors
the quest 2 is already bad enough without streamer cam
you dont NEED two monitors, it just displays it to the main monitor if you dont have a secondary one
I can’t do it with one monitor
It just covers up my game
odd works fine with me
Perhaps there could be an app for desktop, if the quest 2 can connect to the PC app via a code, then streamer cam POV can be displayed through the PC, which doesn’t need to be PCVR ready. Maybe this could work
nope
itd just take the screen of what you see aka quest 2 display
unless it was specifically for rec room
Specifically for rec room, yes
streamer cam MIGHT be a possibility for the quest 3
but definetly not the quest 2
I think it runs 2 programs at the same time and sometimes only overlays some ppls games
it doesnt ACTUALLY run another program
it just renders it again
so you're dealing with 3 renders your computer has to go through
imagine that with the quest 2
for things like quest 2, where would the footage even go?
They said in another thread that they would (if so probably by pure magic) upload footage to rec net
Yeah apparently
well in that case we need a gif camera
Through "optimization" probably
It's not about being available or not, it just doesn't have the output to go to. The reason it works on PC/PCVR is because it can output to another monitor. In the case of VR, the monitor is the 3rd display (1 for each eye), on desktop mode you have to have a second monitor to even see the streamer cam option. On Android you can do it as well, if you hook up a monitor or trick it into thinking you have a monitor with Discord.
Quest 2 and consoles do not have a way to output an additional display. Even when Quest has an output, it is one of the eyes in the headset used.
what i do usually to make up for it is that i go on my pc, turn off all the ui and bobbing stuff and screen record myself on the quest 2
I think this is solved…
