Rec Room. mostly just because its easier to use. RR Simulates being one single universe with all other Rooms being a Location in that universe. So you don’t necessarily need to be playing a game to be able to Exist. Roblox on the Other Hand is just a menu and has no personality to it. And you need to enter different games simultaneously instead of being in one game all the time

i feel like roblox has better quality games and a lot more original games while the bad ones usually get drowned out, while in rec room original rooms are rare. i haven't done the vc stuff in roblox and i feel like the fact that you have to send them your ID is a bit iffy, but it does seem like a good way to keep the kids out, which rec room has a MASSIVE problem with

Honestly the only reason RR is falling behind is due to the Creator problem.

The creator problem regards the fact that high quality rooms don’t get enough payout in comparison to low quality ones, so builders and circuiteers aren’t encouraged to build high effort games because it just isn’t worth it. Thus, no good rooms are being built in RR and it is slowly killing the game. This is proven by the existence of some creators such as Depthzy, who build only for money and honestly don’t give a crap whether people actually enjoy it or not. If you don’t believe me, Depthzy went on a huge rant about it a couple days ago in gen chat.

Honestly, I just stick to playing RROs most of the time. The whole creator thing is so annoying that I don’t spend tokens on cheap games, if I play them at all. To me, any of those stupid Roblox sim/clicker thumbnails is an instant red flag.

A possible way they could further take care of those rooms (on top of limiting reuploads and inventions) is via player reviews either via text, a 1-5 star system, or comments that are visible on the rooms page. That way players can either realistically reflect the quality of the room, or people can see how the game is full of senseless children

If your account is a higher level, you’ve been playing for a long time, your account doesn’t false report and you don’t get banned often then your reviews or reports have a much higher chance of going through and actually impacting on whether or not a game gets a better review or gets banned.

Nonetheless, a credibility system could be used so that if someone hasn’t played RR for at least a month, and if there are too many accounts on the same device, then reviews or reports just don’t go through.

Or they could make it not automatic and instead enough reports simply notify a moderator to check the room and if nothing’s wrong, the bot accounts get IP banned, or it just removes report credibility.

While both Games have improved their engines IMMENSELY, Rec Room has updated their engine a bit more slowly than Roblox. Personally I love Rec Room a lot more, but I do believe that Roblox is probably better

For VR: Rec Room. Rec Room was made with VR in mind, Roblox wasn’t.

For literally any NonVR device: Roblox, Roblox has good VR but it was mostly made for NonVR, they only added VR support later on.

Rec Room’s Screen Mode just WORKS, it isn’t the best though.

not a very old amount on both but i can obviously feel both games are worsening in every way

also one point id like to mention regarding coding in both games is that
easier coding in rr also comes with the disadvantage that theres a lot of low quality content that gets on front page
while roblox has a higher threshold, so even though front page games in roblox are just as hollow, they at least look properly coded and not some half assed game that a 14 years old made in 2 days
