Your booth can have a storefront showing up to 50 shirts. This is both sign up, not invention or shirt sign up

Music cannot extend past the booth. As long as you dont use mood or atmosphere chips, you should be allowed to use lights. Again, make sure it doesnt go past your booth.

No, dont upload it with the template. If I remember correctly, you dont have to publish it to the invention store. You can leave it unlisted or possibly just saved. I'll see if I can find it.

Sky, unfortunately Rec Con always has bad timing, so I cannot make a booth this year (just like the previous years 😔) If I find another example I'll send it to you.

I'm not sure who's in charge of the Rec Con channel but I have some questions about the booth. Are we allowed to promote any socials we have like Instagram and/or TikTok or our own Discord server?
Also could we add lights to our booth?

About promoting socials, there isnt anything within the rules stating you can't. I would say you can if your category is your portfolio (or discord for club). As long as it relates and ties into the theme of your booth.
For example, a Video Partner would promote their youtube, tiktok, insta, or what they are best known for.
A Teacher or Class would promote their discord for those who want to join their class.
When it comes to lights, they dont mention anything about it, but if you choose to include it, make sure the light doesnt spill to other booths (like the rules on music).
This isnt an "official" thread, I'm going off of my knowledge from my previous rec con experiences.

That makes sense, thanks! My booth is just about my portfolio. I use my socials like insatgram to promote my inventions and creations. I also make videos but thats casual rather than counting it as a video parter.

If it makes you feel better, I joined rec room the day after the original rec con ended. The next rec con I hadn't made my room yet. Last year I was busy with High School clubs and sports. This year I'm at training for a job and cant even sign in to the game till October.
At least when it comes to Rec Con, we can count on there being a next year to participate.

Seems they are really cutting back on the Rec Con this year. There are no double booths and there are no panel/activity requests. And this, by one of the event staff.

It seems like a regular trend for Rec Room. Anything that that takes a lot of manual labor, like managing and moderating all of those events, is getting cut back. I know last year was a bit of a mess with their attempt to do broadcast events.

I have a question, are we able to have someone working for Rec Room see our booth to make sure it fits the qualifications before we submit it?

You could possibly, but I don't think any of them are willing to take time out of their day just to see if your booth "qualifies". If you followed all the details on the application page, you should qualify. They will review them all when they are ready and select those that they approve of by Sept 29.

I understand they may be too busy for something like that. However, in the applications page it said, "You can go slightly above the height of the booth where contextually appropriate. Keep in mind there is a low ceiling in the convention and objects that are too tall will be removed." I dont know how low the ceiling is to know how much higher I can build. I wish they could of provided some kind of photo or even a template room that shows us so we can have an idea.

I did have a couple more questions, the #774452956510421022 channel doesnt seem to pay attention to any of my questions so...

In the same applications page it mentioned this, "Do not have floating objects/buttons unless it is contextually appropriate (e.g. a futuristic style booth)." My booth is cloud themed so it would make sense that some things floated like the clouds (obviously) and maybe objects on top of the cloud. Do you think my theme would count to allow me to have floating objects?

As for my second question, it also mentioned this, "You can create a booth invention for more than one category but the booths can not be identical or closely related." Does that mean I can create 2 booths of different categories? For example, if I created a booth of just the art category and another booth of just inventions category.

Yes, clouds would be contextually appropriate.

Additional categories are for the artist alley, portfolio, club and leagues. Most likley they would only accept a second booth form an individual if it was for clubs or leagues. The artist alley and portfolio are pretty much the same concept, just one focuses on art and the other is pretty much anything else.

If your booth was excepted you'll get an email on 29 September. You won't hear anything if it isnt accepted.
