#ideas for junior accounts

the “try to not matchmake me with grown up accounts” sounds good ngl
Yeah it’s fair that we have “try not matchmake me with junior accounts” so for them it’s fair to have the same feature but opposite and abt the fast chat that would encourage more kids to not to lie abt their age
It should be an automatic option for juinors
That makes sense but making it optional would be the best option since there might be juniors that want to interact with grown ups
No because it would ruin how people interact with others
And they are young which would increase predatory behavior around the junior accounts
What if instead of it being automatic, it gets enabled by default
What would the junior be communicating since they can't see nor hear other people chatting?
Same thing as it being automatic
IMO junior accounts should only matchmake with other junior accounts. If that is not possible then I would only match make with screen mode players and mute them and their chats. Every junior account should have premade chat messages to communicate with other juniors.
i feel like that’s already in the game
Exactly
I think that juniors should automatically be matchmaked with juniors and they can communicate to each other
That sort of defeats the purpose of junior accounts. The reason they are junior is because they are below 13 and could divulge personal information about themselves on the internet. Such as telling some perv their location, time they get out of school, when their parents are going on vacation and you get the point.
This sounds like a good idea. Although, I do recommend having some sort of email locked parent account set up to be able to have access to toggle the setting "Don't matchmake me with older accounts" off.
Maybe when you try to turn the setting off, It would say something like "Please set up a parent account". But if done, it will send an email to the parent saying "You or your child have asked to turn off this setting" and whatever. If the parent clicks a button to deactivate the setting or something similar to the way you link an email to your account, it will disable the setting. Parents can re-enable this setting in RecNet (the place they will make their parent account.)
That's all I have to say about this idea. And as a bonus, maybe the safechat could act like Roblox's old autochat.
You are eighth because old people could put their account on a younger age and yk
That’s what I mean
Just like other kid safe games like among us or pk xd
Yeah that makes sense
That’s where a fast chat comes in, there would be only premade answers
It would be pre made answers on a list just like PK XD where there’s a menu with different tabs and all of them contain answers referring to them for example a “sports tab” would have answers like GG or “I win!” Or “REVIVE”
its sad that junior accounts cant play on quest anymore but yk its safer ig for the younger ones under 13
Actually they will do a comeback
Meta will allow 10+ players to use the meta quest
I think Junior accounts should be able to speak freely only if they are matchmaked with other juniors
Parents(atleast mine) constantly preach stranger danger to their kids
So, this 40 year old man just makes a junior account and now gets to talk to all the kids he wants...
As long as the kids have parents that teach their kids about not giving out personal info I don’t see how that’s bad
Adults talk to kids in all different places but nobody says anything about that
Theme parks
Public parks/malls
As if parents do that now a days, parents don't even teach their kids basic responsibilities anymore. Why do you think people have been complaining about the FOMO tactcis that Rec Room uses, convincing kids on mobile devices to get more tokens with mommy's credit card.
I don't know where you live, but if some 40 year old guy walked up to my 4 year old kid in the park and started talking to them, doing things that I can't see because it's technically in a private space in game, then the cops would probably be there either for them to get him or pull me off of him.
It's one thing when a kid is with the parent in a public space and you say "Hi! Is that your dog!" Or "That's a cool car you have there".
Because you can see and hear the whole conversation.
But online, where everything is "anonymous" to a point, and in a place where you can literally be in a private area with another individual, nope, hard pass.
COPPA was enacted for a reason. There are multiple KidSafe programs out there that specifically fight this type of stuff to prevent it from happening.
That’s not the best idea as how @quiet marten said some 40 year old man can create a jr account and talk to other kids so in a case of jr account communication, a fast chat is the best option
Sadly in countries like mine (Mexico) something like a coppa law doesn’t exist and even worse a lot of families in my country hand phones or tablets TO BABIES even worse they let them do whatever they want with no protection
And actually for grown up people the way they could communicate is when the junior selects an answer from the menu, a little poll would appear with some “suggested answers to reply” and then the grown up taps an answer or types it and the grown up says it
And if a grown up wants to talk trough chat with a junior then it would be the best idea to have a filter that not only tags slurs but tags answers like “my phone number is [10 digit number]” or “I live in” basically tagging keywords that can put at risk kids
It should be automatic, People with quick chat can chat with each other.
I mean that works too
There would also need to be more options
