Coral saw the popularity the rec room campus got in such short time, out of jealousy he made a fortune teller and cursed it, and sent it to the rec room campus as a gift, they thought it was a bit too creepy for all the new people that just enrolled so they kept it in storage, but shortly after Simon went mad from his own jealousy and seeing the rec room campus stay the same only fueled it further, he tried to hack into the computers in the rec room campus when he began to transform into a constantly changing mass of glitches, in the middle of it one of his students tried to tell him they were switching schools when he lashed out at the student, corrupting them and turning them into a living mass of slime and bones, seeing this Simon decided to try to destroy the rec room campus from the inside out, he corrupted 2 of the students at the rec room campus, they were brothers and were turned into monsters, one of them fled in fear of hurting people while the other was questioning what was happening, when he suddenly heard a voice, it was Simon's, Simon tried to manipulate the brother into destroying the rec room campus, saying that they did this to him, he believed him and destroyed the rec center, they called him "the forbidden one", he fled to prepare for another attack against the campus" 1/4

So I think the room-i-verse lore makes more sense that people give it credit for! Here's the basic idea:

1. The core of Rec Room is "the campus". That's all the stuff we make. Dorms, Rec Center, the Orientation Center, the RROs - these are all "on campus"

2. The campus is surrounded by a huge quantity of "off campus" content - think of this like the town that surrounds a university. Things can be wildly different out there. This is the vast ocean of UGC content.

3. Together, "on campus" and "off campus" is the Roomiverse! I.e., the ever expanding collectiong of rooms that make up the Rec Room universe.

4. Anything outside the Roomiverse is the Elseware. But since we all live in the Roomiverse, we can only know so much about the Elseware and the denizens it contains. It is the subject of much speculation... the Campus Science Department have been researching this for a long time, and probalby know the most.

Rec room has some lore because if it didn’t we would have no quests but the locations it’s took is in the same universe and 1 different planet ( jumbotron ) and the golden trophy and isle of the lost skulls are in the same planet earth in my senses rec planet the planet we are in is in the games we create adds to the rec room universe and reality so isle of lost skulls is in a ship to skeleton island golden trophy is in a goblin castle and Jumbotron is in the The Jumbotron planet comes to our conclusion that we don’t have a lot of lore make it to midnight don’t count into the lore because the quests are mainly apart of the lore because it’s telling us the story of the reality/universe of Rec Room way before we came around so we are time travelling to the time that the quest started and beaten them in a loop

The Forbidden One was only shown in community rooms and the Rec Room's 7th birthday as a parade balloon. The bubble burst about that tho is that one, including the other parade stuff, was also made by the community. As for referencing, they had the bubblies and the invasion clothing, and the reskin was called (Forbidden Purple.) Basically, it was a merchandise gig; a way to make money off of our legend about The Forbidden One, rather than it be a canon event.

I'm telling you, he's like the Herobrine of RecRoom; the Guest 666 of Roblox. Nothing about him is canon, the only being similar to that of him that is canon is The Teller, thus far.

Guest 666 was just a couple years older than Herobrine himself, a joke creepypasta run by potential exploiters to make little kids believe the accounts to be real when they weren't, thus leading to their termination from Roblox. The legend was so thought-out and iconic, that it became one of the oldest monsters on Scary Elevator for Roblox during its creation in 2009. Hell, there's even a movie on it I think.

Oh that's old news, they did a whole scavenger hunt in Seattle, Washington for an Elseware event mystery solving (the most roundabout thing they've ever done, you had to go on Google Earth to do it.) Rec Room HQ is located in Seattle, Washington, so everything would revolve around that place to keep things simple for the company.

Btw, Pokemon is still on my mind with this. They're just using 3 Cryptid beasts for this: Mothman, Sasquatch (Bigfoot), and Chupacabra (Goat Sucker in Spanish.) Going back to the fact that not only is Gribbly claiming this same game to be their first RPG (potentially Pokemon-worthy), but also the fact that some devs got gifted shiny Pokemon-esque cards of the little fellas.

Even though I think people already know this, Hex/H., Elseware, RIA, Shadow, The Traveler, S. and the Teller don't mean a thing and are just there to make the items a little more interesting so you can buy them.

The actual lore for Rec Room is that you are a college student, and you are on a college campus. That's it.

Also the Room-i-Verse is not Rec Rooms universe, it's just a way of showing Rec Room's vision of having a Cross Platform UGC experience that uses the exact same things the Developers use to make RRO's.

Gribbly admitted it was a cash grab (in summarization), and wasn't going anywhere, so I've already lost most of my faith in the lore ever being a thing, let alone having any purpose whatsoever.

The campus lore was the only good lore we had; next came the Invasions with aliens and Jumbotron, too, which was also pretty good. Then, the Elseware and Time Magicians came along (the biggest cash grab of the decade with no leads whatsoever). After that, we went to a crazy OP clown with Amy Rose's hammer, solving Scooby Doo mysteries about some missing children, and some cryptid Pokémon that's being abused of energy by some Giovanni reject. It has potential, but it later died when it was just a game of Play Adopt Me.
