Pretty sure they is a beta chip called get player body position

dusk notch
#

isnt it just the get position of the player

woven canyon
#

they want the torso

#

so the body

#

and there is a chip in beta called “Get player body position”

hot swift
#

@mellow lagoon in beta content they have a chip called “Get player body position”

mellow lagoon
#

oh ok i found it

eternal zenith
dusk notch
#

wait

#

then whats the head position chip for

#

this game sucks

woven canyon
dusk notch
#

me neither

hot swift
dusk notch
#

ok

eternal zenith
#

It gets the face or head I don’t remember

woven canyon
#

why would they have a separate chip to do the same thing?

hot swift
#

To get the body position you can take get player position and subtract the Y axis on vector split chip

#

Get position gets the root position now

Basically the middle position of the play area/your feet

#

Correction I’m thinking about get velocity, get position will just output the players foot position

If you turn on that setting where there’s an arrow at the middle of your play area I think that’s where it is

#

even then that’s not correct for get velocity, it just won’t count head movement anymore

Or

#

Get position of said player and add a vector to the correct y value

hot swift

#

No

hot swift
#

Yes

sturdy heron
#

The deprecated one does

hot swift
#

It does

dusk notch
hot swift
#

@raven cobalt

sturdy heron
#

It gets the root of the player

#

Bruh 💀

hot swift
#

If it gets the body position then why did they add a body position chip too?

sturdy heron
#

It gets the FEET position

dusk notch
hot swift
#

That makes two chips that do the same thing

sturdy heron
#

The body position chip gets the BODY position

#

The TORSO

Get Position outputs the root (foot) position of the player
Get Player Head Position (Beta) outputs the head position of the player
Get Player Body Position (Beta) outputs the torso position of the player

When I subtract the Y it works?

raven cobalt
#

tf are you saying?

hot swift
#

Splitting player position

raven cobalt
#

you are making no sense rn

hot swift
#

The Vector Split chip?

dusk notch
#

Do a vector dot instead

dusk notch
hot swift
#

Oh they changed it?

#

I never perfectly understood other vector things because Vector Create, Split, and Scale

dusk notch
hot swift
#

Read again I just said it

dusk notch
#

Yes but its logic

hot swift
#

I understand that

dusk notch
#

It like number

hot swift
#

That’s not teaching me much

#

I’m self taught in all my CV2 experience

dusk notch
hot swift
#

I joined a CV2 class but never graduated because it was too advanced

dusk notch

Substract vector ? Multiply vector ?

hot swift
#

Wdym?

dusk notch
#

You wdym

hot swift
#

I said subtract vector

#

By using vector split

#

And subtracting the Y Axis

The deprecated version is just the version we had before where yes, it didn't get the foot position. There is now a new, separate chip which has taken the name that does get foot position. I'm not sure if it says that it is deprecated or has red text to indicate it's obsolete without beta enabled though.

Get Velocity does not output head velocity, and Player Get Head Velocity - Get Velocity = Avatar Head Movement Speed
Not 100% reliable, but, is pretty good
