#How to get a players torso
98 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Pretty sure they is a beta chip called get player body position
isnt it just the get position of the player
they want the torso
so the body
and there is a chip in beta called “Get player body position”
@mellow lagoon in beta content they have a chip called “Get player body position”
oh ok i found it
Get position gets the head
ah
wait
then whats the head position chip for
this game sucks
i’m not sure it does
me neither
It does
ok
It gets the face or head I don’t remember
why would they have a separate chip to do the same thing?
To get the body position you can take get player position and subtract the Y axis on vector split chip
Get position gets the root position now
what does that mean exactly
Basically the middle position of the play area/your feet
Correction I’m thinking about get velocity, get position will just output the players foot position
If you turn on that setting where there’s an arrow at the middle of your play area I think that’s where it is
even then that’s not correct for get velocity, it just won’t count head movement anymore
It get feet pos
No
No
No it gets head position
No
Yes
The deprecated one does
It does
No the root,feet
@raven cobalt
If it gets the body position then why did they add a body position chip too?
It gets the FEET position
It get the root, basicaly the feet
That makes two chips that do the same thing
Player get head position is in beta
Get Position outputs the root (foot) position of the player
Get Player Head Position (Beta) outputs the head position of the player
Get Player Body Position (Beta) outputs the torso position of the player
I TOLD OYUU
The root is the torso
No
Then why when I subtract my Y value is work?
Because those chips are in beta
?
When I split the vector it still starts from head?
What?
When I subtract the Y it works?
tf are you saying?
Splitting player position
you are making no sense rn
The Vector Split chip?
Do a vector dot instead
You certainly have the deprecated one
Oh they changed it?
I never perfectly understood other vector things because Vector Create, Split, and Scale
What vector you dont understand
@dusk notch
Read again I just said it
Yes but its logic
I understand that
It like number
Like what you dont understand ? Split ? Scale
I joined a CV2 class but never graduated because it was too advanced
I understand Vector split, scale, create
So what you dont understand
Everything else is 👎
Substract vector ? Multiply vector ?
Wdym?
You wdym
I’m confused
I said subtract vector
By using vector split
And subtracting the Y Axis
Im confused too,wdym
The deprecated version is just the version we had before where yes, it didn't get the foot position. There is now a new, separate chip which has taken the name that does get foot position. I'm not sure if it says that it is deprecated or has red text to indicate it's obsolete without beta enabled though.
Get Position doesn’t change if you move irl but the head position does, that’s how they prevent glitchwalking on some maps.
Get Position does change, it is not your boundary position, it is your root position
Get Velocity does not output head velocity, and Player Get Head Velocity - Get Velocity = Avatar Head Movement Speed
Not 100% reliable, but, is pretty good
you should make a txt file defining every chip and giving usage context
