#I’m being threatened of getting my account hacked

Use that evidence with the video and the photo of user threatening to hack your account onto sending in a ticket as proof
Yes do that as well
A 2FA/ Two Factor Authentication is basically adding a extra step to logging in
That extra step that makes it impossible to password log
Head to http://rec.net/settings and log in to your account. 2. In the 'Password / 2FA' tab, click 'Enable 2FA'. From there, you will be provided with steps to link an authenticator app of your choosing via scanning a QR code or entering a code manually. @rocky cloud
But do send in a ticket of that player
Yeah do send it
bro sounds like a Worms character
Dude what
Somebody was trying to get some help
From being logged
And you pinged mods?
Your intention is to silence the one who is being attacked?
It's right there in the first rule. Calling someone else out in Discord is considered witch hunting. It don't matter if they were a victim of something or not. The proper place to report other players is through Zendesk. #welcome message
Yeah calling people out is against the rules suggestion report them and let rec room do the rest
Or if it’s a discord matter report them on discord and let them do the rest
Bro why are you trying to get active mods for this dude needed help with someone threatening to hack his account
Yeah but he needed help
Why would you report somebody in need
You guys are horrible people
Just because you need help doesn't mean you break the rules. It's easy enough just to modify the message not to include the @, but they didn't, so it was removed by a mod.
Okay he broke the rule, but he wanted help
You would ban a person who needs help?
Especially when they’re being threatened
To steal a account
That they ended up buying tokens and had stuff on it
Why would you do that?
That’s horrible
That’s legit banning the one who is being threatened, and not the person who is threatening
@dapper hull For all of our sake, don’t become a police officer.
Somebody comes to you for help and you arrest the guy wanting help, instead of actually helping him.
You’re taking innocent people and silencing them, people don’t deserved to be shushed by anybody.
Matter of fact
Never become a VMod
Bro doesn’t know how to help
You’re so “Helpful” 👏
If I were a cop and you come running to me with blood on your hands saying your shot someone, I don't care why you shot that person, you are being put in handcuffs and put in the police car till the situation is cleared up. It could be the other person was about to shoot you before you shot him, but in that situation, you still admitted to murder/attempted murder. Do I think he needs to go to jail? Until further evidence is given, it's hard to tell. But, we don't just let them go free and break rules because someone else was about to.
Just like the case of the individual that made this post. I don't think he deserves a ban, but the post needed to be fixed a warning given. Mods are the ones that handle that and the only way to make them aware of it, as they don't check every single post, is to ping them. Again, I don't think they deserve a ban and we don't know if they got one. But, just like the Dyno bot gives out a 5 minute hush and warning, or the evidence in the case above comes clear it was in self defense, they can go free once things have come to light.
You have no idea who was banned and you only heard 1 side of the story. As far as you know, everything you saw on the original post was a lie to try and get the other people named banned. They could have given this whole false narrative, you know, like showing 15 seconds of an incident from the full 5 minute video and making it look like someone was super evil so it can go viral and make every one mad only to find that the one that was the problem was the one everyone was rooting for. Don't be so quick to judge when you have one side of the story.
Now, let's just say that 100 people saw this thread, they all saw those @ names, they go in the game, start harassing that person saying they will get his account banned, but he has no idea what you are talking about. You explain the situation and they say they were all joking with each other. None of it was serious. However, the other 99 people don't hear this conversation and they all file reports. This person now gets a permaban cause they just been reported 99 times for miscellaneous stuff for a joke that got out of hand.
I see what you’re saying but also jokes like that even as a joke or not should also never be said
So you’d rather sit back and hope it clears out? You’re not even gonna go looking for the guy? Other people could get hurt!
Your short sited emotional attachment to one side of the piece of the story and lack of understanding/following rules is why certain situations in the real world are happening. People don't want to look at the big picture and try to see it from all angles.
How was it a lie? He was being threatened there is only one side, He sent the damn video and you saw it too
I agree, it shouldn't be, but it isn't up to the mob to decide the punishment of the other person. That is why witch hunting isn't allowed. People don't need to be "burned at the stake" for something that the moderators are there to take care of.
Somebody asked for help and you were being so “Helpful” that you decided to get him muted, who gives a fuck if he tries to get somebody banned?!! He wasn’t asking to get the person banned he was asking help on how to protect himself
You literally pinged active mods to get him banned
Hi, @haughty nova!
It looks like this post might be about bans.
For all matters ban-related, you can find more info here: https://recroom.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/4419815401239-Appealing-Bans-Other-Restrictions
Rec Room does not discuss bans publicly, nor will anyone on the Rec Room Discord be able to help with ban appeals.
I think there’s many reasons to it because wasn’t that person a new user who didn’t know it was witch hunting and that being threatened of something would affect him posting it on here because he needed help?
I didn't get him muted or banned. But the information in their post was leading to witch hunting and the place to share the videos and talk about account issues is through Zendesk.
What if the person didn’t know about zendesk not everyone does unless they know cuz like I did say above, he was a new user that joined this discord if I’m correct if he was or not
That is why you share the links, that is why the /support or /create-a-ticket, to inform them.
Yeah I did after he sent the post
Exactly, and like Retrogamer stated, how the post was doing the witch hunting, so gave them direction and showed them the rules they were breaking themselves.
If the person didn’t know it was witch hunting they probably would not post it but since now he should know that zendesk is where he should do it
Right, just like a person might roll through a stop sign, get pulled over by a cop, the cop might give them a warning/citation instead of a ticket or send them to jail, that is the same thing. The mods could have just given the person a warning, a short timeout of whatever, I'm not a mod, so not my responsibility.
It's still against the rules wether they knew it not, would mods be more lenient since they were new? Probably.
There is a statement for this somewhere, along the lines of ignorance of the law is no excuse.
I know, I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was talking to MiLeftG.
I was agreeing
Oh, felt like that was a counter response, saying they shouldn't be slightly lenient.
"Sorry officer, I didn't know that stabbing a man to death was illegal, I won't do it again...."
It's illegal?
I just found a green blueberry, anyone think it would be stupid to eat?
Eat it and find out
It tasted horrible, and was crunchy.
All I’m saying is what I think from his perspective he clipped a small video of someone threatening him without full video of everything that happened, saved it, found rec room discord, saw the channel community help, scared that the person was threatening him so he posted their player profile and the small clip video of the person saying it, asked for help of it, and didn’t know that was witch hunting
At least that’s what I think
It's still against the rules, the mods would likely be more lenient, but it's still against the rules.
Many people would likely do the same.
Yeah cuz everyone still gets punishment even if it’s a mistake or not, no one gets special treatment even if they’re new and didn’t know they did something wrong but still gets punishment like everyone else does
I wouldn't doubt for one minute that is what the person did. I don't know where the OP went, if they left or were banned, but personally don't think a ban is justified.
A warning, a 5 minute hush as Dyno bt might do if I share a link to fast, but not a ban.
Because they are cotton candy grapes? We have some of those in my dads yard.
I'm about to check.
