Since it's instant and not really an animation the best way is to use set position
It is very easy to animate this btw, snap frames are wonderful
(Set the frame to the exact timestamp of the previous one to snap it in place instantly)
It’s an obscure trick that animations support
They are fine as is right now, but the cv2 version would be outstanding
Hope animations v2 will have a set speed and set type

Being able to set speed would be so fucking amazing
Doing any type of movement animation going faster if the object goes faster
I cannot seem to figure this out
Practice it first
Make an animation on a cube with 3 frames (0,1,2 seconds), frame 0 & 1 do nothing, frame 2, move everything where you want it, now set frame 2 timestamp exactly to the same as frame 1
This causes it to instantly snap into position
It really isn’t difficult
Once this is done, add a frame and done
It stays in 2 different suspended animation frames for 1 second each and instantly moves
I have the cube simply go up and down as an example
It snaps down
But smoothly goes back up.
Set the animation type to loop
Not ping pong
Also, when frame 2 is set to the same as frame 1, add an extra frame
So it stays where it is for 1 second
(Or however long you need)
It is on loop
Then again I am only using the few frames
Do you suggest I add more frames?
Where do I insert certain frames?
Oh no no no
I am not gizmo savvy
If it says “Insert” do not add the frame
Insert wasn't used thankfully
Might need to start over if it’s broken btw
Once you get the hang of this, this stuff is cake 🎂
So back track to when you set Frame 2 to the same timestamp as frame 1 right
Click the RIGHT arrow like 2 times to make sure you’re still on frame 2, then click add
like I literally made this setup myself right now and it’s working fine

Literally re read what I’ve said, it’s explained as best as I can say
Like I’ll make it as a step thing if I need to
Step 2: edit the animation and add 2 frames (0,1,2 seconds respectively)
Step 3: on frame 2, move your object to where it should snap
Step 4: set frame 2’s timestamp to the same as frame 1
Step 5: click the right arrow by the animation progress bar like 3 times to ensure you’re still on frame 2
Step 6: add 1 more frame and you’re done (obviously turn on the animation and set it to Loop)```
Okay now, my confusion is the timestamp thing
I have everything else in mind and ready
How do I set timestamp
Is it the "Time" thing in the bottom left corner?
I'm so sorry
Yes, that is the timestamp
And I just set it to 1.0?
Ye
And just to clarify, I'm going back to frame 2 and setting it there
I hate being dumb
You go back to frame 2 (which by default you should still be on) and adding one extra frame, that’s it
Easy right? That’s snap framing, go nuts now
IM GONNA GO NUTS!!

It’s called snap framing? I’ve always called it split framing when I discovered it when messing around with animations
