If it is an iPhone, sometimes uninstall/install the game again, run it and it will ask for permissions you use your microphone. Accept it and you should be able to use the microphone in game.

It was something they changed not to long ago that forced applications to ask for those permissions and it might have been iOS 16 that made it easier to accept. It should help.
