Not exactly, seems to be it is a physical mutation that makes different ligaments and joints in the body disproportionate making them deformed somewhat due to how flexed they can get. The reason I said charcot marie tooth disease is because that’s what it stands for and CMT is found to commonly affect the jaw and gum muscles on the human body, but can also affect your hands, legs and feet.
It also stretches and retracts your nerves unnecessary, restricting blood flow which probably causes your joints to retract and cramp up.
