yea, nearly the entire play tab is ruined by those rooms and Rec Room is trying every other way to stop the slop than what'll be the most effective in my opinion: to stop making so many incentives for cashgrabbers to be doing what they're doing. here's a list of incentives cashgrabbers have to keep on making low-effort rooms:

• Room Rewards (rewarding monetization and engagement)
• Creator Swag
• Creator cashouts
• Room Highlights

and at the same time, they're removing incentives for people to make rooms with actual thought and care put into them:

• Room contests
• Featured rooms aren't nearly as prevalent as they used to be
• probably some other stuff I forgot

I think AFKing in your rooms entirely depends on who you are in Rec Room to be honest.

Like, for example, if someone like Slat was online AFKing in a room he's promoting, you could argue that it's an unfair method to maintain being on the play tab, since kids will more than likely see him online in that room, and will join it.

Meanwhile, most people will never notice @-PromoterNumber382 online in a public room, and probably won't join them, unless they get invited.

Either way, people AFK in rooms all the time, even in contests, so I don't really see anything wrong with it. I used to do it as well, but nowadays, I usually just hang out in the rooms I want to promote, and like talk to people in there and stuff, instead of AFKing.

For as many cases as you can say don’t apply you can easily come up with just as many going “hmmm that might give a room an unfair advantage over others” paired with having no friend list limit with people with +10k friends setting their name to something that boosts them to the top of their friends list

and because the room is featured, I can see this flickering quite often

this also could entirely be coincidence, but when my new tab is also constantly changing in size (sometimes it has 4 rows, other times it has 6), I have a small feeling it's legit how its working.

Well to be fair, those are valid reasons. Saving rec room can mean different things to different people, if people want RROs and bugs fixed so be it. I personally want slop creators properly moderated and clothing item prices decreased or at the very least a variety in prices rather than “premium” items.

Yeah, this is why I never expected Rec Room to port to Switch.

Rec Room is a social game. Getting voice chat working on Switch can be a pain (I remember it being difficult a few years ago). I feel like the majority of Switch users wouldn't even speak but I guess the case could be made that they can still enjoy all the RRO activities. Either way, I'm excited.
