Add a offline mode already.

I always build inside my dorm bc when i disconnect while building something inside a room i create, i get sent to my dorm, but if im already in my dorm, i cant get sent back.

I could honestly work with this if there wasnt a dorm in my way a stupid respawn barrier just a bit bigger than the dorm itself.

So if i where to just go offline, i would only be aloud to go into private rooms where i can work on things in peace.

If you dont wanna do that, than how bout you stop limiting peoples freedom to a stupid dorm you cant get rid of and remove the respawn barrier.

Either or would greatly be appreciated

  1. If you disconnect while in your dorm, it is possible to get "sent" to your dorm again (it happened to me before.) When you get sent to your dorm that means there was a temporary error with the room you were in. You're still connected while in your dorm. If you lose connection entirely it will kick you to the title screen.

  2. Recroom said they will increase the freedom of dorms, but they haven't started working on that yet

  3. If there was an offline mode, that means all the private rooms you have saved will be stored in the memory of your device (that's a lot of space)

  4. People could do this to exploit. There are so many things in recroom connected to the server at all times, even if you're playing alone. It could possibly break some things or affect things that we don't know about

  5. Offline mode would only be useful for building. Recroom studio is coming soon and you can definitely build offline with that

  1. idk but ill take ur word for it

  2. at least it will happen someday

  3. just have it to where u can configure rooms to be available offline like how u can on google docs

  4. maybe, but im talking bout if they actually made it really secure, and u know, only allow things that dont use the server like private rooms if they have "Available Offline" toggled on

  5. I dont have a PC, and 3.7k$ just to go offline in a game is a pretty big price tag, especially when they strive to be available on all platforms. Ik it dosent like have to be a 3.7k pricetag, but thats just the cost of the PC i need, so, not something i just kinda want, its my all in one ik will work, and if im gonna get something with that crazy of a price, you know im gonna get it at its best, and not just cheap out and suffer in the future. And overall like i said, isnt very "all platform" friendly

also thats kinda the point, theres 2 parts of rec room, socializing and building, so offline would just take away the social aspect, as expected when u play a game offline, so i dont see how it only being useful for building is a con when its expected that you cant like socialize

Google is really smart with how they do things. If there was a way to configure a room to be available offline, then how would your device be able to access the room's data? The only way would be to download the room onto your device, which is a common method seen in games like mario maker. In that case, what would the creator do if they changed their mind and didn't want people to be able to download it? Well it would already be too late.

Anyways, online access isn't too hard to acquire anyways, and building in recroom is mostly done in VR. If you play recroom in VR, you are expected to be indoors.

And you don't need a PC to run recroom studio (unity) you just need a large disk space, that's it.

Yeah, i want it to download, and then when u toggle "Available Offline" off, Playstation (platform) should prompt u if u wanted that save to be deleted.

Yeah online access isnt hard to aquire, but its miserable when you cant go into a room by yourself from within, i shit u not, as low as 5 Seconds, to, 30 mins on a good day (3 hours on a REALLY good day, very rare) is about the range of time i get sent back to my dorm. I cant even stream Rec Room from Playstation properly either. But for offline games like security breach? I can stream it 90% fine. Not everyone has perfect wifi. And i had my quest 2 force close rec room multiple times, and is WAYYYY worse wifi connection than on the ps4

And so how would i use rec room studio on oculus or ps4?

and security breach is absolutely terribly optimized with its bugs and framerate, so that REALLY says sumn bout RR

idk, never considered laptops, sure they getting better nowadays, but ye, im getting a PC. But like, maybe in 2024. Even then, if i get my PC, im not the only one that probably goes through this, so i might be satisfied but others just like me in my current state wont be. So still be nice if offline was added

It’d be neat if you could choose to download a room temporarily to work on while offline, and then upload whatever changes you make to it as a new save some other time when you are online.
