It was all by people who had experienced issues with him. A good number of us had already reported him but those who didn’t we told about it, and how over time it can help get rid of players like him. It was less of a “hey let’s all gang up on this guy to feel powerful” and more of a “we are all pissed of at this guy, let’s make sure the people who haven’t reported him for exploits know that they can and that it helps” kind of deal.

Multiple votekicks had been attempted on him before then but didn’t go through because some people weren’t sure if the person being votekicked was him. After we all got together and talked we confirmed that it was indeed the same one person that had been causing trouble

Oh, I understand your reasoning and I fully sympathise with you. I just thought your method of dealing with it is putting yourself (and the other reporters) at a far higher risk of being banned. Because, when staff review reports it is impossible for us to know why so many people suddenly ganged up on a single player so it looks like mass reporting. One or two reports from any player in good standing is just as effective as a whole group of reports all at the same time - Remember, we can see other reports and if it looks like the reported player is cheating we will see that and deal with it. If we see what looks like mass (or false reporting) we will deal with those too.
I am NOT criticising you for trying to help the game, I am simply trying to advise you of the pitfalls of mass reporting.
