dear god this is a bad take. rec room is very much heading in the right direction here by giving its users more creative freedom. it's not like VRChat, where you have all of unity to go crazy with. this is its own thing, which integrates unity in order to make better looking maps. it also allows for many optimizations, including more lenient ink caps and general higher fps. and iirc, rec room studio doesn't even allow you to code. you're still using cv2 for all of it. this is in no way going in the same direction as VRChat.
I feel like with recroom studio we can give bad people the ability to make more NSFW-themed maps
It can, but you can also do that with the maker pen as well…
Yes, however the basics of building and using makerpen are quite difficult. Using unity you could easily just grab a model, mess with it and make something inappropriate fast. I do agree it's the same with makerpen, you can literally build it but some people are lazy
Well it just so happens, that this isn’t unity. This is a collaboration between unity and RR. Creating “Rec Room Studio”. While yes it does follow the same outline of unity(to my knowledge). I don’t think you can rip models from anywhere.
Besides, there is no doubt in anyones mind that RRS will be heavily moderated on release.
you're right, that is a very unpopular opinion.....I wonder why
I agree tbh
you kidding me right
"Let's not be the next VRChat" -🤓
Sir RR has better moderation than vrchat
Also: "should only exist for mods" "the makerpen is what unlocks RR's authenticity"
You can barely make shit with the Maker Pen (unless of course, CV2 and the brain of Albert Einstein and every historic engineer and builder combined) unless of course you find an way to make an super realistic RR map.
Plus, Rec Room is encouraging others to make their own custom, not using intellectual property (maybe it'll be allowed if it is public domain)
game. Where VRChat, doesn't care.
