Is it a random person?

#

how do you choose the person

opaque dome
#

I've got an invention that does this lol

granite echo
#

so it asks them?

opaque dome
#

though it's not free ( whoops)

#

I'll link it..

#

To confirm, you want a button that can both add and remove the role

#

Oh

#

oh

granite echo
opaque dome
#

YOu do

#

lol

granite echo
#

So let me get this straight

#

you want the person to press the button and type in a name

#

and it picks that name

opaque dome
#

No worries, Sanchez got you family. You're in stable hands

granite echo
#

is it people in the server or just any name

#

ok

#

let me think.

#

@frozen ibex Okay

#

get a chip called "get all players"

#

spawn it in

#

get a cv2 button

#

and a prompt local player chip

#

I got it cryptic

shell remnant
#

knowing you're using Get All Players in this situation when you dont need it, idk

shell remnant
#

Prompt Local Player, Get Player By Display Name, Player Add Role

#

you can tell him how to order those sanchez

#

those are the 3 basic chips you need tho

#

cheers RRthumbup

granite echo
shell remnant
#

and the button yeah

shell remnant
opaque dome
#

CC has entered the chat lol

shell remnant
#

Actually you have to see if the player is valid

#

You cant check if an invalid player is inside a list, it will output an error

granite echo
opaque dome
#

He's like mary poppins

granite echo
opaque dome
#

comes when you need him, leaves when you want him

granite echo
shell remnant
granite echo
#

You're the guy who's supposed to know the hard stuff

opaque dome
granite echo
#

I answer the questions of people like Axolotl, you answer questions of people like me

opaque dome
#

We're here to help this kid tho!

Use a role chip to define a role

When the button is pressed, execute Prompt Local Player

use Get Player By Display Name on the Response output of Prompt Local Player

Check if that player is valid using Is Valid

If they ARE valid, give them a role via the Player Add Role chip

If they are not valid, do nothing

granite echo
#

:c

opaque dome
#

sorry 😦 don't take it personal

granite echo
#

woah

granite echo
shell remnant
# granite echo :c

just know that im never trying to call you guys dumb, because alot of you guys are smart

Except I just know alot about circuits

opaque dome
granite echo
#

I hate sound design and using audio players in this game

#

audio players are dumb

shell remnant
#

the only time I kinda seem like an ass is over organization

Im not too picky with organization, my basic rules are "If I cant read it, im not helping you"

But when it comes to making inventions and such, for the buyers sake, please organize it

granite echo
#

the way they work is dumb

opaque dome
granite echo
#

like they should just make a chip that plays an audio with an option for all players or a specific player

granite echo
opaque dome
#

#circuits

#

You're not but we can yap about it in there

opaque dome
shell remnant
#

Like I dont expect people to use my way of organization because its very specific

  • Grid 0.1
  • Snap to center off
  • Snap to the Top-Right-Front side of the grid, for every chip, no exceptions
granite echo
#

@shell remnant Okay smarty pants, can you explain to me how to use Pancake992's inverse kinematics chip from the invention store

opaque dome
#

LMAO

shell remnant
granite echo
#

I don't even know where to start

frozen ibex
#

Just use a prompt>get player by display name>add role

frozen ibex
#

Player add role

#

Sure

#

waiting...

#

Bro you died?

#

@frozen ibex my man?

#

💀

#

K k

#

Should be good now take a if and wire the is valid to it

#

Then>add role
Else>do whatever you want

#

Depends

#

Do you want it when player isn't valid?

#

Wdym

#

Oh that would be with an event sender and receiver

#

Make an event definition

#

Add a property player to it

Then take event sender, configure it to all, event reciver>if player is local

#

Add role>event sender

#

Event receiver>if player is local>show subtitle

#

Yes

#

If before add role

#

If true then add role

#

Else nothing

#

Add role goes into event sender

#

Event definition property i can't see can you screen it

#

Ok good

#

Now event receiver>if player is local

#

show subtitle

#

Send a pic of all the circuits

#

Add role

#

Target is player

#

Also configure the event receiver and sender

#

To be on the event definition

#

Then wire the player to the sender and the receiver player to the player is local

blissful pulsar
#

So like cryptic would give you a role

#

Used that for a working death note once lol

shell remnant
#

How?

Do you like, check which name is closest to "cryptic"?

frozen ibex
#

Maybe he means without a prompt, with a list get element and a variable?

shell remnant
#

last time I checked you cant plug a string into list get element

frozen ibex
#

No i mean

#

without prompt

shell remnant
#

?

frozen ibex
#

Using buttons

#

To add or remove 1 to variable

blissful pulsar
#

Iirc I used a for each and used to string+ to lower on each player and if string contains the lowered version of what you typed it selects that person

frozen ibex
#

Nvm

frozen ibex
#

Send a pic

#

Send a pic

#

To be surz

#

Cause it might not work with others

#

Could you make your circuits in the right way

#

Like i mean

#

From left to right

#

Reorganize it

#

It's rly hard to understand rn

blissful pulsar
#

Wire prompt local player to the if, and wire then to player add role

frozen ibex
#

Also wire the get player by name>event sender

#

And event receiver (player part)> if player is local

#

What

#

How

#

Wire it where it says "local player"

#

Send a pic

#

A good pic

#

So i can see everything

#

Player has role

#

Into an if

#

Wdym

#

What.

#

I'll just get on

#

Add me @aliceangelaa

#

Ok 5 min
