what is your opinion on RR Studios graphics as we’ve seen them?

since we are able to use normal maker pen objects in the same place as rrs objects, i'd guess you would have to use skydome, fog, background and sunlight chips yourself. though there is a chance you can do that standalone in rrs.

It’s as expected which is good however, they’d require to add shaders for it to reach its potential.

To add shaders & coding they’d need to make a separate version of Rec Room for PlayStation.

Incorrect, it’s not in relation to hardware. PlayStation has rules on user generated content, which doesn’t allow coding or shaders. This is why Roblox & VRChat aren’t on PlayStation.

“TL;DR Sony policies prevent custom avatars from being a thing

Long answer:

Playstation requires all UGC games on their platform have the ability to make shit inside of the game without using 3rd party programs

Roblox, requires roblox studio, and therefore cannot be on playstation because you need a PC to make games

Rec room is allowed because of the maker pen, and that maker pen allows you to make everything UGC related

There is some leeway BUT for the most part by Sony's policies UGC games are required to allow you create 95% of the stuff ingame

Which is why custom avatars are not allowed (or even considered sometimes), you can't just port unity and blender to the PS4 and expect it to work.

There was talks about having full body costumes able to be used between rooms but that talk has died out a while ago

and I swear to god if you tell me to just delete PS4 support off of rec room then i will personally ask the mod to silence you with a rusty spoon, this is obviously a joke

But anyways, that's the reason why rec room physically cannot allow custom avatars
