You have to be joking. I get you guys want money, but first the Easter items in November… now the weekly skins are buyable? What is happening to my favorite game. I usually don’t mind the changes but this is just dumb.

#

Not like you guys will see this anyway

#

The “only 1% do the challenges, we want others to have an opportunity to get the skins” argument is so fake.

If someone can’t spend a week (the average weekly challenge grind is 1-2 hours) doing these EASY challenges to get a skin they want, that’s on them.

#

If they don’t work they don’t deserve the skin

Simple as that

theyre just skins, and i like them being buyable, just means you arent wasting weeks waiting if youre hoping for a particular skin just to see the billionth plaid skin

The new system is dumb

That won't take long

# ocean tapir No effort = no skin

theyre really just skins, theyre a fancy thing to make whatever youre holding look cool it shouldnt matter how much effort it takes tog et it

I understand your point but it’s really the principal of the topic that majority of the community is upset about. To get something you want, you have to put effort into it. Giving out free handouts (because tokens these days are either impossible to get, or you get millions) makes the game boring and ungrindable

its so bs, i understand that they need money and they need to eat but over the past two years the greed has caused the quality of the game to drop drastically, since they market to kids now

#

not to mention they are so focused on reselling old skins that they dont fix the 20 million bugs added with every update

While I get your point on this, there's more factors to consider.

  1. How many players do you see using a weekly that was NOT from the prior 2 weeks at most?
  2. The current method of one skin rotating per week means that if the skin is something like a caution skin, players aren't gonna do the challenges.
  3. Said challenges are also repetitive.
I'm not against the weekly system nor do I think this move is being made for our sake (like you said, tokens are nearly impossible to get unless you're a [BIG SHOT] creator), but having this on the sideline would be nice.

honestly i dont mind the weeklies re-cycling, even if it is a skin i had from two years ago, but selling them is just scummy

I feel like a better system would just be to completely rehaul the weekly system.
Do weekly challenges to earn points, use those points to unlock a skin from it's own store with it's own rotation.

that could work

#

definitely a system where multiple weeklies are unlockable at once so that way they are not limited to four a month

#

i just feel like charging for the one thing in rec room that was actually free and worth it is just scummy

Solves multiple issues, IMO
-Takes effort (earning your rewards is cooler anyways)
-Looks better on RR (won't look as greedy)
-You get what you actually want (consumer gets a choice and all that)
-You can save up points for skins you might want in the future instead (investments)
-Solves the issue of only having one skin in rotation per week when there's many, many older skins players would want
-Gives an opportunity to also improve challenges / add MORE challenges (more variety would be appreciated)
-If you'd somehow have every single skin in the current skin rotation, you can just save the points up for the next rotation (again, investments)

How long are these available?

they gon realize they've re-released every skin by next year (if they make 7-8 a week) then they gonna have to make new skins for once..
