#should rec room remove voice changers

wait, to clarify we are talking about the low/high pitch voice setting ya?
@heavy tapir
Yep
I’d disagree, using a microphone to talk is a large aspect of Rec Room & a main reason some individuals don’t use it is privacy, voice changers can help disguise your voice. This is one of the features that the statement “if you don’t like it don’t use it” applies. If the issue is hearing it there should be an option to turn off hearing people with voice changers.
I think your point is somewhat invalid, because even though it hides someone's voice, it's still god damn annoying to hear some low/high pitched 5 year old
Right. So then ask to add a “turn off hearing people with voice changers” option.
You see, that actually is probably harder to make than it sounds
How so? It’s the same as auto muting people based on a setting selected.
Then unmuting them once the setting is no longer selected.
They also already have a “voices I can hear” setting.
I rather them not talk then make their mic 10x louder than normal and lower the sound quality to a telephone
Or just remove voice changers
If the issue is not wanting to hear them it’d be the superior way.
To mute them.
I do want to hear them, just uhh not in a ear blessing fashion
You realize some people use them for privacy & wouldn’t talk if they were removed. This just appears as being self centered.
I stated my opinion on this earlier
^
plus even if someone was using it for privacy that's like 1 person out of 10000 trollers
It's just annoying
then theres no point
No
ur saying the voice changer is used for peoples privacy
if they choose to add "hear wihtout voice changer" then that just defeats the whole object
and i use a voice changer on recroom
the one for recroom i mean
some ppl want to hide their voices (not rlly me, i just want a deeper voice
)
and yes, that's self centered
them, using a voice changer, does not affect you, did it physically hurt you? no, and if it mentally hurts you then...
just don't play recroom 💀
Then that would just make the voice changer useless because just about everybody is gonna use that option
I want keep voice changer, is funny when you drink a ego potion and you set the voice to High
i accidently set mine to high and didnt realise, ppl kept asking why my voice was so highpitched
i only realised how bad it was until i heard myself talk 😭
Hurts my ears
It’s superior than removing it?
low pitch is fine because i barely notice, higher pitch however
I don't want it gone for one reason I mess around so much in private rooms with my friends so this would be pretty disappointing if I couldn't use it as a joke but eh I don't do that as much anymore
Mute button exists
Muting people is just stopping their audio from reaching your game
Toggle-Voice modifiers would require the game to send you the data for their voice and modified voice to toggle between
It would be a automatic mute based on a option selected, therefore it’d be similar to that.
But no one wants an auto-mute
People want to be able to hear people
if they wanted to mute them, they would
This would only stop in game voice changers & it’d be optional.
