Oh yea, I'm certain it will change a bit. Though, when I do work on paper it still has that scratchy feel to it, same with some of my Digital work.

I find that rec room as a medium strengthened my painterly tendencies in my process, so I believe whatever I did learn I’ll keep with me for awhile. My style didn’t exactly develop inside rr tho bc I mainly do procreate.

Ah I feel that, see I believe the only think that RecRoom allowed me to do was to get into digital art (I was traditional before RR). So, I never really worked with colors until then.

Before, I worked with grafite and charcoal mostly.

Traditional work below: Still has that scratchy & textured look.

Oo I see, ig ur style transfers between mediums pretty well. I think it was the opposite case for me. Rec room taught me how to make a finished piece without layers or airbrush, and helped me with surface normals a lot. It prepared me for when I started painting a lot more like 6 months ago.

This one specifically used the same skillset of surface normals I learned on rr:

Yea, my styles fairly consistent, I just enjoy textured work. I find it to be fun and relaxing. Plus, it means I don't have to stress too much with it.

I'm happy to see that RecRoom has taught everyone different things in there Art Journey. I know that in the beginning I was not the best at figuring out how to transfer my real word work to RecRoom but I think I got there in the end:)

The gondola only works sometimes, even though they’re simple chipsets, the whole thing shifts apart from itself constantly, sometimes the trigger volumes don’t register, and some elements are outright missing sometimes until I freeze and unfreeze. Oh well, thanks recRoom.

Hypothetically that’s the way they’re supposed to be but the whole thing is easy to ski all you have to do is dash or slide and you can make the runs smoothly all the way down, until the map shifts and nothing is smooth anymore

I know you probably get this alot, but the best tip is to practice, draw everyday if you can

Reference images are good for beginners, so don't be afraid to use em

Find your own art style and practice it

Ye, no one is bad at art and everyone no matter how much talent always has room to improve. someone who draws or paints doesnt just wake up, pick up a tool and start a Mona Lisa everyone starts at a certain level and only get "good" after practicing and taking lessons even self taught lessons.

before i could only draw stick people so i gave up but started practicing due to seeing my sisters artwork which inspired me. Now i can draw what you saw above.

the lesson in drawing is to keep at it, practice no matter how hard it seems and try different styles or techniques out and sooner or later you will find "YOUR STYLE"

In order to find my "style" I found tons of artists I liked over many years and put what I liked into my own work. Surround yourself with great art and it will come to you in time as long as you practice!!

Doing life drawings can really help you get a feel for anatomy if you're concerned about that. I think it's the fastest way to "git gud" at people :-}

One of the biggest things that helped me when I started doing art was doing still life's. Taking a picture and trying to recreate through drawings and then passing it off to others and they point out all the differences and I would try again. It's what helped me the most. It helps you get a sense of what is more plausible and realistic that is pleasing to the eye. Even if you like and develop a cartoonish style I believe it's truly helpful.

Just keep working at it and stay determined @wet cedar Also don't be scared to post your art here and ask for tips. Lots of people here willing to help out where they can. Also welcome to the server ^.^

Yeah, I pretty much have to keep drawing something to get used to. Anything that I’m unfamiliar to draw or never done, I will constantly keep practicing literally forever until I’m satisfied with it. All the drawings I’ve done may look good but that’s because I took a time to practice over hundreds sketches to learn art principles and elements inside this game and IRL.
