Red beam = no anticreeper creation at beam location
Green beam = anticreeper creation at beam location
Press I (i) button = Move beam
Beam is green if there's no creeper (AC is fine though) under it
Yeah, that's already planned actually, the problem with that is the optimal strategy is usually to just use all the beams on a single location so I'll have to figure that out a bit
There are quite a few usability issues with this. It's certainly novel, but positioning the unit is hard in 3D mode and in top-down it obscures the color of it's beam. The pop-up text also obscures accurate placement. Th epop-up text also says "current power -30" but it never changes, hence I doubt it's "current" inasmuch as it's just power. Overall I'd say the previous cursor tech was superior.
Yeah obviously it wont update the cursor power because THIS VERSION WORKS DIFFERENTLY. There's no power change to show as there's nothing changing it. And it doesn't change because the structures that change it are introduced on the next map in the series.

I'm considering changing the cursor orb's color based on conditions if only I knew how to change object colors... might figure that one out
I suppose I could also do the same thing where the popup can be toggled on and off maybe
a fair balance, lots of potential (maybe multiple ones you can leave around the place?)
