#Unity and IronSource merge (IronSource was known to distribute malware without attention to user)

Man, yea, as they say... WTHeck, Unity?
This really sucks.
This is one of the clearer guesses for reasons I found: https://mobiledevmemo.com/why-are-unity-and-ironsource-merging/
So mobile and ads? Not much there of use/interest to developers like you. 😦
I guess everything does go to where the money is.
I would say it's not just the developers who are hurt of this, but everybody who was part of making Unity to what it is now (their former employees/sponsors/what not)
well users also might be concerned of it, what is to become of unity in future
2 articles i sent are literally 3 years apart what shows that issue was real for extremly long so i don't have any form of trust that since 2018 anything changed
this is like feeding cancer instead of curing it (mobile market)
not making excuses, but from (KC's?) article, the strings are being pulled by large Venture Capital funds. It's most likely primarily their doing.
oh and CEO of unity keeps delivering
this doesn't look good for unity
...the number one form of gaming is mobile. And when you’re in mobile, you’re driven by in-game advertising. Yeah, that sums up how Unity sees the world. It's their world, but I don't know if it is THE world. For unity, mobile is their number one source of revenue. For me it isn't. For Valve it isn't. For a bunch of AAA studios it isn't. But, given Epics growth with desktop game studios and Unity's growth with mobile studios, I can see why Unity frames their gaming world as mobile first. What it means for the Unity engine over time... that will probable start to become more apparent over the next year
And this post from one of the Unity forum mods. His signature indicates he might not see the world Unity's way either 🙂 https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-announces-intent-to-join-forces-with-ironsource.1308219/#post-8275614
heh
Someone made a new Unity Start button (I think it was posted on Twitter) Does not conform to normal posting standards.
This article is here to help you figure out whether Godot might be a good fit for you. We will introduce some broad features of the engine to give you a feel for what you can achieve with it and an...
I guess its time to learn Godot
oops, sorry for ping
don't worry about it. its something I wanted to know
from what i've read people saying, godot 2d is pretty good, 3d is lacking but is getting better in upcoming version 4, but even then will probably not be nearly as fully featured as unity
I'm still working in 2D 😂 (when I do work)
