#6 : Enter the Starborne

For this mission, you play as the Starborne: a race that powers their ships by maintaining miniature artificial stars as cores.

Currently, you are running low on water, but there is a planet with underground water reserves nearby and only a light creeper defense.

So the solar panels apparently don't work, they update the UI to say they are generating power but they don't transfer that energy to your main ship.

I was not expecting the true power of the annihilator - ||I wasn't expecting it to destroy land, ships and water as well||

It's a fun surprise, since it's not like the mission is too difficult even not knowing that. I was also amused by spawning the solar panels up in the air and not realizing gravity just turned them into a haphazard pile

Has custom ships. I built the solar panels in the sky thinking they'd float for some reason then saw them crash to the ground. Kinda wish they'd shattered tbh. Glad I'm not the only one that tried that.

Annihilator caught me off guard. I have no understanding of what "50" is though, so a range indicator woulda been nice.

I'd use "football field" math then, and just say things like "about double the range a nullifier usually has"

How I view the ships:

#

Construction ships are a bit slow with only 1 beam. I probably end up needing twice as many for the same work.

#

Snow piercer is a good unit. Excellent at pushing. Cryon Gun plus Cannon.

#

Assault has too many guns. Not only does it go through energy like crazy, it actually runs out simply because the packets take too long to reach it.
It probably needs 2-4 times the capacity or halving the number of guns.
I suspect it might overkill any patch of creeper, thus wasting shots

#

The MLRS is bulky. So much so, it's bulk actually seems to cut into the range. And might be the main challenge.
In turn it is very effective. It basically runs out of good targets in range in a few salvos.

#

Nullifier: The advertisement is very wrong. Also it can destroy water, probably not intended.

I would say this is the total amount of water, but there's a rock that seems to drip water endlessly

#

incase someone was wondering where the annihilator went

Kudos for creating great new units! I agree with @heady coral above that Assault is a bit overpowered, and it makes the energy balance harder. Maybe next maps could have less units overall (just one Assault, one MLRS, and some smaller units) and play with more simultaneous threats?
