#4572 : Can\'t nobody AC this

AC cursor again.

There's 2 tiny spots of AC, one close to rift lab and another on the other side of the map. Move and grow them with your cursor. Autobuild should do the rest.

The cursor is very weak and slow in the beginning. You need to spread AC for more areas to increase the cursor power.

The start was hard, but it was rewarding once I worked it out.
Not having snipers was a little annoying.
Definitely enjoyable.

Well yesterday after launching it already was fast given tag "impossible", now that's been removed but I have my usual bad&broken there ๐Ÿ™‚

Bad is subjective but I wish people'd stop using broken when they can clearly see a score list full of completions.

This is a gift for you, I hope you'll consider using it.

Once it's pasted into a CPack, put it in the game control pre-update slot.

It scans the map at the start for anticreeper, gets a list of each continuous puddle, locates the puddle's center based on averaging the creeper cell positions in the puddle, and draws a bright green flashing beam from the sky down to the terrain at that exact point.

It automatically stops after finding the 20th puddle but I doubt that would be an issue in your maps where I've seen no more than 3 starting AC puddles.

This will point out the starting AC locations automatically without any development work on your part besides putting the script in a CPack, importing it to the level and setting the script to execute pre-update (while paused is best).

Again, I hope you at least consider it, as even when you tell us where the AC is at the beginning I frequently have trouble finding it.

#

(BTW the beam disappears after 30 seconds)

how? i love playing these sort of maps, lots of xp with them and using the ac to spread to increase the usefulness of it... but there is 0 weapons to help protect the main base and the first emitter just over runs my position i cannot for the life of me get a foot hold.. any tips would be helpful to just get past the first 2 min of the map ( i have tried 10 times so far just fyi lol)

I couldn't find the second patch of starting AC, so I just used the one near the rift lab.
I ended up turning off almost all unit production (and pylons) on the left half of the map, prioritizing the couple of mortars just up the hill to the right. From there I alternated between spreading a bit of AC onto plateaus to boost cursor power and holding the AC over the rift lab to keep it alive.
It was a tough start, but once I had some energy going and those couple of mortars firing, I was able to re-enable some of the other units near base, and slowly push back out.
From there it was pretty standard. Took a while to push through the eggs and the flip breeder. Had some of that nuisance where the nullifier was really close to the spore launcher with no real support (southeast), and many eggs in a row bounced right into the nullifier until finally it was able to build.

Was hard to find the second spot and had to restart 3 times to save the base. Besides the start pretty easy and overall fun.

The intended "easy" method was what Fire said but I assumed some people could do like Ben and push from there

The mod from Argon sounds good, I should utilize that on my next map. I have very evil idea...

That's what it looks like, but the beams pulsate which makes them even more visible. Points to the center of each continuous AC puddle, auto-detects them without any manual coordinate input required.

doh.... I think I accidentally opened wrong script... maybe nothing. I'll try the correct one now...

I've added the hard tag. Its not impossible, but I didnt get it to work. I tried what @quasi karma suggested, and felt pretty good, only to notiuce the AC near the base is gone. And You cant make it back fast enough (at least I couldnt)

#

I tried to keep both AC alive, but that isnt an option either

pause is your friend

Also there is a 2x2 hole to the west of the lab, if you get some amount of AC in there it shouldn't evaporate.

#

That will let you focus on the east without worrying about losing all AC in the west.

Didnt think of that, but not gonna. That style of playing isnt what I like. Others seem to like it a bit so glad some people enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚ I'll just go to the next
