If you put your whole body inside water than there's no worrying of the water not touching your body.

There's a funny story when someone went to a sheikh and told the sheikh that he put his whole body in water, but he wasn't sure if the water touched the body. Sheikh told him that he's free from ever praying 😂 because yk, people without actual mind aren't eligible to pray. Ofc your body was in touch with water.

Maljis will explain better, but Insha'Allah you're in the state of purity

Even so, for some reason, I have this lingering feeling that maybe my ghusl wasn't valid and that I need to perform it again even though it seems I haven't done anything wrong. I'm literally thinking every second, trying to think of something I might have missed to do. I know it could be waswasa, but I keep on thinking that maybe my ghusl actually is invalid and so it would be wrong to ignore the whispers.

If every part of your body was wet, you are good to go.

When people in the desert made ghusl, they would use about a bucket full of water to do so and it was valid.

It's probably waswasa making you think that your ghusl isn't valid as a means of getting you to continue obsessing so you miss praying.

What happens if I ignore the "waswasa", and my ghusl actually turns out be invalid?

intention matters. make the intention to make ghusl. do your best. move on.
