Not the typical game for Nightdive, but as they have good relations with Microsoft(Doom 1/2/64, Quake 1/2, Hexen, Heretic.. re-releases) I think it should be possible. As far as I know the Rare Replay Classic version wasn't ported to modern platforms because of some emulation issues. Nightdive is with M2 the best developer of retro re-releases so that shouldn't be a problem for them. Banjo is next to Mario 64 the best 3d-platformer ever made, an absolute cult classic!

Banjo-Kazooie is a platform game series developed by the British studio Rare. The games focus on the two title characters―Banjo, a male brown bear; and Kazooie, a large female bird who is typically seen riding in Banjo's backpack―both of whom are controlled by the player. The games generally involve the pair in conflict with the evil witch G...

no, you're fine. I'm just reflecting and letting people know that the numbers are artificially lower than they would be otherwise

I still like the idea of a Rare Replay rerelease, but with Nightdive going so hard on the vaults, it makes sense to not group things together exclusively

#

Plus, I love Banjo-Kazooie 1 so much

Ah ok, I see. Yes same for me. Banjo-Kazooie on Playstation and PC/Xbox would just be absolute awesome cuz it was peak 64-bit jump 'n run gloriness🔥 GoldenEye I have plenty nostalgia for aswell! Was Diddy Kong Racing in the Rare Replay Classic collection? That was awesome too and even better than Mario Kart 64

DKR was not in there at all

#

goldeneye was given to owners of the digital version (not physical owners) and then the rare replay suddenly stopped being put on discounts

For those looking to play this on modern systems:

  • Get the Xbox live version
  • Use the Xenia 360 emulator
  • Profit. Works like a charm and looks really good.

There are also quite a few romhacks which enable custom levels and even whole campaigns of new levels. Sadly they run on the N64 version which is lacking all the QOL features of the Xbox live version, such as better models, textures, loading times, higher fps etc.

Edit: This also applies to Banjo-Tooie of course.

the 360 version (which is also Rare Replay's version) also has some minor changes (that I feel are improvements) over N64: the ones i remember are a reworking of the unused stop n swap as a hook into nuts and bolts and keeping the obtained notes persistent

lol, it was such a bad decision for N&B to be so actively hostile about the older games

#

felt like the devs didn't want it to be a B&K game and were making a show of it in a very "Shawn Michaels in Summerslam '05" kind of way

Yeah I've no idea what they were thinking when they made that game.
It's really weird, because it is so fundamentally different from the other two games.
Though I must admit, I haven't even played it once. I've only seen videos about it and that was enough for me... I'll never touch it, NEVER!^^

I like it a lot, entirely on its own merits of being an accessible snap on build-em-up. I don't think anyone really nailed that balance until Tears of the Kingdom.

That said, yeah the intro is so needlessly mean about the N64 games that I don't blame anyone for skipping it

It's okay to like it, I've heard that a lot form Banjo fans. Nothing serious. It's just no 3d platformer with cool locations and characters and puzzles...

I'm gonna watch that Intro now LOL, wish me luck😂
