I'm aware there is a remake being developed by Alkimia Interactive, but it's looking a bit like development hell, hopefully it comes together in the end.

I'm proposing a remaster of the original game, addressing many of the issues with soft locks and swimming, giving an art pass, and support for mods (hopefully being able to incorporate existing mods or allow for easy conversion of existing mods).

Before the remake went into full production, they released a teaser first, that became very popular.
You had to own Gothic or a related game to access it.

I'm all up for this since the new official remake doesn't give me much hope they won't censor it or do something similarly stupid

I don't even want to replay the game anytime soon, I just want to future-proof Gothic without game breaking bugs and crashes.
