My remaster wishlist for all 3 games:
The bare minimum:
- Workshop support
- Base the remaster off Modders' Edition Engine, but still have the games more or less unchanged. All the "big" additions (ichthyornis, aquatic AIs, map ambients, new trophy room, idles for allosaurus and velociraptor, etc) should be made optional by making them into official workshop addons
- As for the MEE features that should remain, it's the killable brachiosaurus and the supply ship in C1 and C2. Not sure if the new gun system should be here as well
- I dunno how sound and video drivers work, but it'd be nice to have a unified system that takes the best from all of the worlds and doesn't require us to choose between D3D and 3DFX. This also includes Aureal 3D's feature of making the ambient properties actually work
Would be nice: - New mapping tool
- Increased rendering distance
- Support of any texture resolution
- RES editing tool. RES.txt can often get messy in mods due to the sheer amount of values in a single creature's entry. Giving it all a GUI would make it sooo damn easier
Cherries on top: - A faithful remaster of all the models. Modders' help could be used here

I think its more of the expression, technically its 3d in the same way Doom is 3d, just uses sprites instead of full models for objects.

Also my guess just from how development goes, and of past games they have done;
Mod tools: Yes, but a heavy if. Compatibility is the main issue, which can include file types and versions as well wont be compatible. Considering how they would most likely either need to heavily modify it or possibly rebuild the engine from scratch, most overhaul mods most likely would need to be recompiled into their newer engine version for stability reasons. But also going along with that the tools would most likely be more streamlined and stable as well, meaning recompiling them from older assets could theoretically work too.
New additions / features: This might be more on the modding side of things then making things part of the vanilla game in this case. Part of the reason is mainly like Turok 1 vs Turok 3 as an example. Both are technically the same game if you broke it down, but their are features that would ultimately make both a different game if one feature was added to the other. Now that's not saying I wouldn't like to see "New" things added as expressed in previous posts, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up sticking to the base gameplay 1 to Ice Age did, maybe having the option to cross over between games like maps or animals, but still, I wouldn't expect them to do that right out of the gate or make it a priority.
