Classic hitman series is a good example of games that are wildly varying that got lumped together, also not a fan of Grand Theft Auto's 2D and 3D games being in one entry, but separating them is messy and deciding which game gets all the votes from the series is messy and then the original poster gets mad and it's a bad time for everyone

That, I would presume, comes down to either business dealings with IP owner, technical limitations, or the length of development time. If a trilogy of the original games gets approved and started, my thought would be like Turok where it's one game at a time and a bundle purchase discount once the project is complete, but that's just speculation on my part.
