#HTC vive big vibrating
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Just throwing in my 2 cents, I had this issue way back when I played Vive, I think it may be related to Vive+Unity. Some games just caused the controller to vibrate constantly, like the rumble was getting stuck on. Happened in Beat Saber, VR Chat, Cosmic Trip, others.
@warped moat does it go away if you restart the game/SteamVR?
from 169 games. this is the only one with this problem...
Yeah I don't doubt it, I'm just pointing out a place to start looking
Does it go away if you restart the game/SteamVR?
restart - rolled back to the old version. nothing helped. I had to temporarily turn off vibration for this game
Alright, definitely an issue with the current build then, I think the public_beta is the same as current so that's out
the strangest thing. that I played calmly before update 3.0
is it possible to roll back the game?
I'll check it now. before that I tried to roll back steam vr
sad 😦
one last thing, could you use the bug report button in-game? That way it sends diagnostic data to the developers
hopefully the bot is working
just make sure that logging is enabled under Video settings, near the bottom
ok just a second. I need to find this
the bug report button should be on the desktop window, looks like a bug
sent
thanks, sorry about the issues
I'll be happy if this helps
I've definitely seen this happen before in other games, I'm sure there's a fix
wait did stableprevious branch also have the bug?
hmm, if the previous branch had the bug that's troubling... if its a new change then something easier to find t.t
not trying to pass the blame here, but I think this might be either a hardware issue or something specific to how haptics are handled with Vive wands in unity
the vibration event triggers but it doesn't stop every time, causing it to rumble constantly
in some games opening a menu stops it, others you have to shut off and turn on the controller
this is what started happening to one of my wands shortly before it stopped working altogether
