#Quest 3 update
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I think they said they were gonna increase the graphics a bit for quest 3. Hopefully they'll also increase the enemy limit
yeah basically will turn everything up as much as we can
that said, broke both our quest 3 headsets so might be a couple days late 😓
Having just forked over $700 for one, I need to know how this was accomplished 😟
early dev devices are not the same as release hardware
and every early device we've ever had from anyone tends to break easy
and then the final ones are fine
we find the terrible bugs so u guys dont have to lol
Has this come out yet/ when will it?
its on beta branch atm, figuring out best quality settings now
I am really looking forward to this because Light Brigade is my Game of the Year 2023!

Any word?
workin' away, was a bit out of office but back on it now
mostly just checking all the stages and minor tweaks to make sure its okay and then sanity check the build on quest2 too
is a bit tedious since i have to make a full build to test everything properly on headset
but no major changes left, just wrapping up; so prob a couple days of building & testing & tweaking
if todays build is okay ill throw it on beta branch if you wanna test
Woot ! Can't wait for the Quest3 enhanced version
you can try out the beta branch if you want now, it's mostly good to go
just a couple small bugs left and finding exact final settings that run at good performance
Hello, if you have a link for beta branch i am up for it
You switch branches in the phone app. Go to the game page in the store on your phone. Scroll down and click on the version number. Then click on the drop down menu on the right.
A surprising number of Quest games allow you to try beta builds this way.
Switch at your own risk though. Some games may have issues with save files.
Personally I like taking a look at beta branches once in a while.
Thanks for the answer, i found it. Couldn't see the difference with the actual version, i tried the quality setting it is unplayable, just the energy economy is viable on my quest 3
I haven’t tried the beta in a while on my Q3. I’ll give it another look.
Basically it seemed like a big step up from the Q2 version just because of the upgrade in the lenses and panels, even without any software updates. 😁
For me I don't really care for a graphic update (or maybe on the lava level textures that are a bit rought). I just want the game to run without stutters
yeah sorry the beta is confusing to access
@icy sluice in that case you'll probably want the 'clarity' mode, it's same graphics quality just higher res + framerate
butter smooth
Is it the second option "resolution" ? I am going to try it tomorrow. I am still worried my headset has some kind of problem. Are you running on v60 or v59?
my headset is on v57
i didnt opt into the beta OS this time
got enough problems already lol
I didn't ask any beta os but mine is in v59. I hope that if my problems of stuttering come from the os that they solve it quickly it is very annoying, for me the most important thing before graphics is a stable fps. Still even if i get some annoying stutters here and there I can't stop playing the light brigade, it is freaking addictive!
hmm, if i see my headset update to v59 ill check too
the beta build was still jittery for you? t.t
(beta game, not beta OS)
Yes, beta game still a bit jittery, it got way better since i deactivated the appsw so the jitter is not accompanied with some ghostly warping effects but then it is of course using more battery as it is now in 72fps instead of 45. I will do more testing later, meta can get annoying with their updates sometime, it is not the first time their updates broke a game
After more testing, the beta game runs way better (in high res mode) appSW is not good (it should in my opinion not be activated by default).
I reached the lost memory level with the giant metal grid you need to open, before it was laggy as hell for some reason every time i walked underneath, now it is all fine.
I tested with a fps counter, the game run mostly smoothly at 72fps (with rare occasional frame drops) but sometime i got micro stutter that doesn't show on the fps, i guess those stutters are Os related (got them in beat saber as well), let's hope they fix that asap in a new os update.
which place do you notice the micro-stutters most?
It seems to be like near interactible objects like jars etc. Oh and also ennemies are still spawning inside the walls
@civic peak your dream has come true
no update yet in the quest store
