PPSh-41: looks cool, would be ncie for assault or scout
SVT-40: very nice rifleman/sniper?
SKS: looks nice too
Mosin-Nagant: classic, probably should add too
TT-30/Tokarev: looks good too, very classic looking
DP-27: havent really figured out how to work in LMG or HMG design-wise yet

#

i dunno they all look pretty cool, i guess feel pretty similar to weapons we did choose, might be good to have as the other weapons in a class

#

though could probably figure out some new classes for some

#

but to answer your question, no particular reason; just looked at lots of guns and picked a set that seemed cool, wasnt overused in every game, felt kinda classic and interesting

I’ve theorized m3 was a major inspiration to kalashnikov. The m3 and kalashnikovs most successful models follow such similar design principles (cheap stamped parts, loose tolerances which radically improve reliability in terrible conditions).
Maybe just convergent design ideals. So different from German engineering.

usually the cheap and simple stamped part guns are just designed to be easy to produce for small manufacturers, i think lots of times near the later phases of war they just want to crank out cheap guns for civilians
