Your head one rotates around your viewpoint (aka your headset) so that your head moves with you, which means that if you have your viewpoint really far from the head bone, the avatar lifts off the ground to compensate
It happens when your head is very large compared to your body
I am guessing there's tricks to getting the particle system be optimized, I just don't know them, it would be a massive bummer to have a cut down version for quest, but it's required

Everytime that I create an avatar project through creator companion and choose a version for both base and avatar it comes up with this error message. does anyone know what this is or how to fix this? I haven't tried with worlds and don't know if its happening on world projects too

lower texture res, remove unused blendshapes, merge and atlas materials etc. you could use Thry's avatar performance tool to figure out what parts of the model are taking up the most space to better optimize it/get more specific suggestions
if you have many outfit changes consider making each an entirely separate avatar. Swapping is really not a big deal.

Hi, This is like. my second or third avatar that I'm trying to upload, but it's saying in the alerts tab "Spine hierarchy missing elements, please map: chest" and i'm trying to figure out exactly why its not working. i've tried google, reddit, youtube, and i still cant figure it out. i might be stupid tho and the problem is right in front of me, but as i said im a total noob at this type of stuff. would someone please help me?

we'd need to see the bone hierarchy.
It needs to go: hips -> spine -> chest -> upper chest (optional) -> neck -> head.
You can't be missing any required bones.

hmmmm so in stick mode you can't see which way the bones are facing - can you switch to octahedral mode? maybe one of them is upside-down

wtf? 1 face of the eye is not displaying any textures, on opaque render it looks fine, Normals seem fine, even with Alpha channel disabled, it's not there, the face is there, but it's not displaying texture, even when changing it on UV Editing tab.. ( i am going to explode )

my avatars bounding box is insanely large because i used an mmd base (not tda, don’t worry!) and the head came with glasses. i THOUGHT i removed everything on the head, but im just now finding out that the glasses that came with it are somehow still there, and are extremely low under the ground so it still counts as part of my avatar. i tried going to blender to fix it, but its so far down that i dont even know how to get to it.
had a hard time finding where to change it, but i eventually got there ^^;
it seems like the bones are all facing the correct way tho...

im thinking its because it doesnt have an upper chest bone, there's only the one chest bone in the armature.
whenever I download avatars from any website or an avatar that someone bought me it wont turn into a unity package and just turns into some random white paper file. I have winrar and its working but the avatars wont turn into unity packages. Please help
that's going to be specific to the file you download, not really much generic

how are you trying to open the file though? Open Unity then in the menu: Assets -> Import package -> custom package, and pick your .unitypackage

I get it from gumroad or any other avatar market. I press download and I get the zip file like normally. I unzip it and all i get are those white files that wont turn into unity packages

If you can't reach it, you could of course select all the rest of the avatar, then invert the selection.

those look like actual edges. Switch to vertex mode and I bet you see vertices too.
so what if i already deleted them...
but maybe those are parts of mesh you need and when you selected stuff then hid it, you didn't actually select everything

it not appearing in Unity might mean you aren't looking in the right place or you have some stuff hidden, see the eyeball in the upper-right of the project window.

so um, my contacts aren’t working.
i have 2 contacts set, one for nose and one for head to change face expression. one set to finger, the other set to hand. i followed a tutorial, and i can see both in game (avatar debug) and in unity that the contacts are THERE, but nothing happens.

Move the foot bone up in blender or use OVR to drag yourself up
I moved it lower and it solved it, but it also glitched the polygons of the shoe.
and adding an extra bone to the toe bone will just get ingnored.

make sure you use the same object as the anchor override in the mesh renderers - I usually use the chest bone

it's complicated. vrlabs has some prefabs to base stuff on, then there's Sophia's pickups and weapon system if you want to really make it usable by others

i can only do desktop for now, so i tried the unity game mode sphere test with a sender but nothing.
the head contact parameter is empty in that image but i filled it in afterwards
I recommend doing the contact check locally then using a parameter driver for the actual synced toggle

check the transition conditions in the gesture layers. probably the masks on those too
I apologize, I'm not very expert in Unity but I'm already in the avatar's animator section... In the transitions it says "solo mute", the mask I don't know exactly where to see them or edit them
masks are in the gear on the layer itself.
for transitions you want to look at the conditions, near the bottom.
I recommend a tutorial on using the animator.
I've been looking, I disabled motion time since in a tutorial they didn't have it enabled ,But I don't know exactly how to edit the transitions, although the tutorial had that section in "list in empty"
I also tried to put a mask that was already created of "mask for left hand" and "mask for right hand" for each corresponding hand, but when I upload the avatar and look again, the selection I put in mask disappears and is back in "None"

VRCFT has received messages from the Unity editor but the avatar status hasn’t changed. Am I doing something wrong or it is not support for doing this?😂
AV3 and GestureManager likely don't send out the /avatar/change event required for VRCFT to know what avatar you're in. It's easier to test anything to do with fact tracking in-game

either my avatar view is too low and too far into my head and I can see my chest cevering up 30% of my screen when I look down halfway (even though my avatar deosn't have boobs!)
or my viewport is too high and too far and my neck and body move dramatically up when I look down.

Maybe. I removed some things and it helped.
The problem was that everything in the creator was poor or better, but in-game it was ranked as very poor
You just have to look into what number made it very poor in game.
are you sure it isn't an issue of some othe objectsin oyur scene being exported with your avatar or something? have you trried disabling everything but your avatar and things you need in your avatar?

that's only set to invisible, you have to click on the little box on the top of the inspector for each object

What issue? That error likely had nothing to do with your issue.

is the hair the wrong shape? wrong gesture? bad face texture?
alr coming back at this with more info, so basically the toggles work on pc just fine, but on quest only the animations that adjust the clothing play but nothing is removed which means it interferes with other outfits i put on, it uses the same paramaters fx layers etc. as pc but seeming doesnt work (pictures have a few things for the toggles)
are you using the same parameters file for both avatar versions? and don't have anything altering those as a build hook (like VRCFury)?

Ok - hard to say what that is from here, is this a quest-compatible shader? It might be vertex colors
iirc Fury has a way to make sure the parameter lists stay in sync, you might check that. I don't use it so I don't know what that is called

You can usually find it if you click on one of the mesh objects, then see the "mesh filter" component, and you can click on the object in that and it'll probably get you there in the Project window
otherwise you could use standard file-finding tools from your operating system to look for files with extension fbx

it's already in your Unity project, not sure why you're looking at the unitypackage
In package manager turn on the fbx exporter. It's a default unity plugin

weights are in vertex groups, and attached to bones by name, so you can simply rename a vertex group to the name of a different bone and then all those vertices will be weighted to that new bone

For some reason, and it's really random & client sided, I can't tell if it's my clothes or the actual body, but the breast flaps around like crazy. Either that or it's flickering between boob size 0 & boob size 100 constantly at lightspeed.

i swapped from using a blend tree to a state machine with transitions and it made the flickering smooth (like in the gif)
so i think the issue's with the senders and receivers

unless you plan on moving your eyes separately from one another, you don't need two sets of contacts for each eye, just for one, and you only need 1 sender and 2 receivers. If you use proximity contact receivers you can align them so that 0.5, 0.5 is the center, and 0-1 are the positive and negative X and Y values. You move the receivers with position constraints locked to one axis
that makes sense, ill try that
they should all be the same radius, and they are aligned with the X receiver on the bottom right, the Y receiver on the top left, and the sender in the bottom left
the receivers should be overlapping with the sender by 1/2 the radius
add an empty to the eye that is the same distance away from the eye as 1/2 the radius, and that's what is used as the constraint target
also your eyes should rotate 90º in all directions. This does make the eyes difficult to move, so I reccomend creating a second set of eye bones. One is used for the contacts and one is used for the descriptor
you can just use empty transforms btw, no need to add bones in blender
the one used in the descriptor should rotate about 30º in each direction from my experimentation, which works nicely with the 90ª since you can use a constraint to multiply the motion
add a rotation constraint to the bone used for rotating the position constraint target, then set the rotation constraint target to the descriptor bones. Enable free edit on the global weight to set it to 3
now you only need to rotate your eye 30º to rotate the position constraint target 90º, which will slide the contacts 1/2 the distance of the radius each way
for some reason the angle you set the eyelook with in the descriptor changes how easily the eyes move when moving your head around
30º tends to work for me, not too sensitive or insensitive

i’m trying a head swap and for some reason when i merge head bones, or move any of the bones on the head sculpt i’m using so they’re under the original avatar’s head bone, it makes the eyes bulge out from the sockets in preview bicycle pose and gesture manager play mode

i tried everything i could think of, which is why i’m trying to see if there’s a way to bypass the need for LeftEye and RightEye to be under avatar head in hierarchy
I probably wouldn't actually merge armatures. Depends on what you've got, but in most cases it seems like a waste of time
I don't think you can bypass that, but you could just not weight paint anything to those bones, and setup different bones for the eyes and use rotation constraints, but I'm not really sure I understand the problem you're trying to solve here.

I'd probably consider just merging the meshes into one body, tossing out any armatures other than one, and redoing whatever weight painting needs redoing. it'd be a bit of work but it'd end up much cleaner than what sounds like a mess that you have now.

im having issues with my avatar. visemes work perfectly in unity but whenever i upload it ingame and talk they dont work. i tried deleting all layers and removing the menu/perams but still doesnt fix it. i never had this issue and any other avatar i use has working visemes

part of my hair is invis from the front
and i was told there is an sdk with a mobile toon lit shader that has double side culling

no mobile shaders have culling to off 
you will need to double the mesh in blender if you want the hair to be visible
and flip the normals in blender
to my knowledge no quest shaders have off culling

Try adding a bit of padding around the sprites in the texture. I think that can happen if you have pixels touching the edge of the image
when i reimport the FBX files with some simple modifications, why do all the contacts and stuff increase in size by like 100 times?

because you used different scaling settings than previously. In the Blender export dialog, set "Apply scalings" to "FBX All" unless you specifically know it should be otherwise.

Sorry it took a while. I had to load up the unity to check, but the file comes already with a quest version, so I just built and changed it to android then added my pc blueprint to it then just upload. I might just redo the project to test again

Then it's responsibility of the avatar creator to fix the clipping issue.
For the fix itself, you'd need to use blender to fix weightpainting which it quiet a task if you have never used blender before.

I’m still deleting things from my vcc folder and I’m deleting things from my OS(C:) but it’s still telling me I don’t have enough storage on my disk, I’m really confused as to where I’m supposed to free the storage when I’ve been deleting a ton of projects

If you just want to upload this avatar,,,, it's the texture memory usage. The wiki says the maximum download size must be 200 MB and the uncompressed size must be 500 MB.
Yours is lower than that, so I don't know why it's blocking it, but maybe fusing some materials, or lowering the resolution of textures would absolutely help

could be a timeout , see yellow errors too , sometime it says something about asw fail somethingsomething, nothing to do with the blueprint error its a generic fail message
these are the yellow warnings but its all shader related idk if it could be the issue
I can't seem to get the hair flowing properly, it only flows when I shake my mouse and physbones aren't working properly
well they are moving, just not much since you have immoblie set to 0.75 on all motion
you need to turn that down if you want them to move more

you have to actually go to where unity is installed in your files, and delete the folders manually
