1. The Ocuclus cable is likely the best (can’t say from experience though), as it’s specifically made for the Quest.
2. Yes, you can even use a USB A to C cable, but a few recommendations:

• Get a long cable (>3m)
• Make sure it’s USB 3.0

3. You will need to use Oculus Link (or Air Link, or Virtual Desktop) to play Phasmophobia VR.
   Air Link is Oculus Link, but you don’t need a cable, just a good local internet connection.
   Virtual Desktop is a paid app for the Quest where you can play SteamVR games (and I think Oculus) without a cable either.

Oculus Link has better quality, and you will need a powerful PC for any of those three options.

1.) If your pc is truly powerful then you wont need to worry about fps, the resolution is pretty nice 2.) You can play SteamVR games with your quest just fine with PCVR 3.) SteamVR games dont since they are installed on your pc, but if you buy any games from the oculus store through the quest then those will take storage. 4.) Its not the best but with an elite strap and a silicon face cover its good 5.) Link cable comes seperately, you either buy the official expensive one, an offbrand one, or just do wireless if your wifi connection can handle it 6.) Id just get the Q2 I wouldnt bother waiting for Quest 3 or Index 2 7.) Controllers are powered by a single double A battery each and those last for much time, the headset on the other hand uses battery and sometimes computers pcs cant output enough power while playing wired linked PCVR to keep it charged indefintely.

That doesn't even look like it has a dedicated GPU, meaning it only has an integrated gpu and those are NOTTT anywhere near powerful enough for pcvr gaming

or most modern games in general

you will also for sure want more system ram, at least 16GB if you plan to have a decent time in vrchat

The cpu from what I can tell doesn't seem bad but you probably want a bit better

You are better off finding and looking for laptops for PCVR that at least come with a 20 series gpu or better

I suggest buying the first one. Since laptops can't be upgraded besides system RAM it's very important to get one with decent hardware. The second option is also good but since it's the same price as the first laptop it has less overall value per Kuwaiti Dinar.

The only new VR headset that sort of fits this budget is the Oculus Quest 2 with oculus link(either wired or wireless). Could always buy used VR hardware though I don't recommend it. Note you will need a Facebook account to use an Oculus Quest 2.

If by you having a USB C cable, you mean the one that came with the headset, I would highly recommend not using it, it's very short, and only USB 2, which will reduce image quality, and force you to sit next to your computer. If it's not the cable that came with the headset, then make sure it's at least 3m (~10ft) and is USB 3, otherwise, Link will not be great.

VR motion sickness will usually wear away in a week or 2. Just NEVER ever never push yourself to keep playing when you feel sick, if you dont stop you will elongate the time you are stuck feeling sick in vr

the explanation the error gave makes sense, a material on your avatar is using the particles shader. you can only use vrchat's mobile shaders for quest

find the material using the particle shader, (probably will be on a particle) and change it

hands are tracking but you cant move. no its for your real height so every avatar is autmaticaly changing for you, not contrary. i think you mean emotes on gestures? you can use gestures on pc by pessing shift + F1, F2 etc

1.) Hitting "Y" or "B" will open the quick menu and from there you do whatever and holding them opens the gestures menu (radical)
2.) yea your hand just turns into a lazer beam basically you will see

4.) If it is a "Very Poor" Performance Rank it will always be hidden on the quest standalone version, and require you to manually show each very poor avatar. This is because the worst performance rank class of avatars you can set to automatically show is "poor" and it stops there. On PC you are able to set it to "very poor" so those show on default. On Quest linked which is just PC, it follows the same rules desktop does for that. It doesn't automatically optimize avatars either thats not exactly really possible

If you are also trying to farm trust I doubt VRChat made the system let you gain anything while you are in AFK mode

i keep seeing this picture or similar when shopping for a link cable on amazon. a) the cable plugs into motherboard not gpu. b) will this cable not work with my msi rx570? it runs vrc fine in desktop mode

The RX570 is compatible though don't expect high or consistent frames(especially on VRchat) as that GPU is on lower end for being VR-ready. The closest Nvidia equivalent to an RX 570 is a GTX 970 or GTX 1060. And you do indeed plug the link cable into the motherboard.

I have limited experience with the Oculus Quest 1/2 as I don't own an Oculus Quest 1/2 so I may be wrong on some things. I did find one potential solution from a Reddit post that says this issued was resolved by checking if a software update was pending and installing the pending software update.You're able to check for updates by going into settings (then look on the left of the Settings section and select ‘About’ at the bottom of the list) for your Oculus Quest 2. You could also try removing permissions for photos and see if that resolves the issue as well.

Apparently quest users can’t go access the website because it requires a password, but if you signed in with quest, you can’t get in because there IS no password for the account.

Yeah it should work fine, as long as your pc has a class 3.0 (or above) USB A port on it, and that the cord is class 3.0 or above

hitching is expected when turning on mirrors because depending on how much the mirror reflects and the world you're in along with people, turning on a mirror requires a large chunk of vram to be allocated to render the reflection, especially if you're already running low and it needs to free up some more vram.

Open OVR advanced settings then navigate to the motion settings tab, enable both left and right hand space drag (you can always do one hand if you want), next go to the bindings tab and select bindings for OVR advanced settings (don't select SteamVR or VRchat bindings) from there you can create your own bindings for playspace drag, you can also use a binding made by the community.

The best budget VR headset is the Oculus Quest 2 as long as you're okay with the Facebook curse (a Facebook account is required to use an Oculus Quest 2, lack of Full-body tracking support out of the box, a somewhat uncomfortable head-strap. If you want wireless PCVR with FBT support get a Vive Pro series or Vive Cosmos Elite VR headset and Valve index controllers and the Vive wireless adapter (this is very expensive). If you want the best overall VR headset get the Valve index kit. It should be noted that I don't own an Oculus Quest 2 though many users who own or have owned an Oculus Quest 2 have said the Oculus Quest 2's head-strap is very uncomfortable.

just tried out dualshock4 controller in VRChat, it thinks its a vive controller (judging by advanced settings) and the controls are rot. 90 degrees. The mute button is L1 which i found strange. Select/use is Triangle. Pressing square shows a cursor in the middle of the screen simalar to desktop. TLDR: Don't play VRChat with a PS4 controller.

hi i need help regarding to vrchat So i downloaded VRchat today, using oculus rift. The game reads both controllers during login and setup but once it loads the actual world it loads my left hand controller and the models right hand and my right hand controller does nothing, I tried using keyboard to get into settings but it won't let me uncheck mouse or keyboard, the other options are controller and touch I unchecked controller and left touch checked but that didn't seem to do anything,

FBT is not possible on quest standalone (as of now), but it is possible when connecting it to your pc. you can still use it wirelessly by using airlink or virtual desktop (i think virtual desktop is better for that) with a few caveats to that. Unless you are using something like Slime VR, so vive trackers, you will need basestations. and also because the two devices are calculating the playspace differently youll have to calibrate them probably every time you start playing and also sometimes while playing. hope this is helpful
