that's drift. The thumbstick is the weakest part of the controller and they're not designed to be repaired. However, have had some success with using a match shaved to a fine wedge and pushing the stick up, insert the match and rub along the bottom edge, followed by blowing out any dust/dirt.

Teardown here, but the only real solution for wear and tear is a new controller.

If you have a VR ready pc and a very good internet connection, you can connect your quest 2 to your pc and play like you would with a Rift S or any other PCVR headset, its basically oculus link but without cables.

you need a good wifi connection to run virtual desktop wirelessly smoothly. i use it wirelessly and i don’t have much lag so as long as you use a good stable connection it runs fine. also, i recommend steamVR for vr games unless you’re using oculus air link. that’s just me though.

also you need a pc that can run vrchat smoothly if you want an experience with minimal lag. your pc frame rate may drop a bit sometimes because virtual desktop streams your pc screen to your headset so it runs pc vr without crashing the headset. your quest doesn’t load anything except for the streaming i’m pretty sure. so that’s why you need a good pc for higher end vr games.

so as long as you have a mid end to high end pc and have a stable wifi connection, it should run perfectly fine

at least in my experience

The reason it does that is because even though it's a quest compatible avatars it does have a lot of polly's so having many of those avatars visible will lead to lag so it auto blocks the avatar from showing till you show it manually

If you can't bring your hands closer to your face then that's because of how the creator made the world you're in. They probably made the clipping plane far away or forgot to change it to be closer. If it's just others that you can't get close to then that would probably be that you have personal space on which is in the settings on the left

So here's what I'm getting. When you try to connect to the Internet you get a "hardware issues" error. I'd say do one of a few things: try connecting to a different network, make sure you put in the password correctly, disconnect and reconnect, try moving closer to the router

If you're planning to use the Oculus Quest 2 with that GPU you will have a terrible experience. The Nvidia equivalent of the RX 550 is the now very obsolete GT 1030. The Oculus Quest 2 can used in standalone if you didn't know.

While it will "work" you will get well below 90 fps in most VR games (Beat Saber, Lone Echo, etc.) and you absolutely won't get good frames (30-45 fps) in PC VRchat.

The quest and quest 2 are budget friendly headsets that offer usability anywhere you want, so you don’t have to set up trackers in your room that can be annoying sometimes, and they are wireless, BUT with these quests have their cons, less performance, that means worse graphics and overall performance, but that can be avoided as long as you have a decent pc and a oculus link cable, BUT if you want the more immersive experience, go with a wired headset, it has better tracking, graphics, and overall has a better experience for gameplay, but that does mean you need a pretty good pc to run it, so if you want versatility go with the quest, if you want a good immersive experience go with the rift or any other wired headset

For me I run the quest 2 as my daily driver and I have no complaints, besides the battery life, if you play for long periods of time it drains rather quickly

Of course it’s a stand alone headset that can be used with or without a pc

I use it without and it’s still a great experience

So really it’s up to your preference, quest and quest 2 are great for daily driving while being wireless, but wired means better graphics and performance

You can also use virtual desktop and still be wireless. That is what I normally do. I get the performance of PC and I get to use it wirelessly.

There is a way for FBT trackers but it's very janky and requires additional software and hardware as you will require base stations. There is also a way for the Index controllers probably though at that rate I would just recommend getting a Valve Index or Vive Cosmos Elite depending on if you want wireless PCVR or not.

So far I seem to be the only one having this problem: Whenever I open the game (quest 2) it stays in the first loading screen for a good 5-10 minutes until it crashes. I’ve uninstalled the game, ive restarted the quest, and i’ve even done a factory reset but nothing’s worked, the thing that interested me however is that it worked fine when I was at a friends house connected to their wifi, and it works on a cell data hotspot (Although it’s so slow it’s practically unplayable on the hotspot) does anyone know the issue?

My friends Quest2 is suddenly loading her avatars a foot above the ground... She played for a couple days as normal before this happened. Shes tried restarting vrchat, restarting the quest2, changing avatars, and even resetting her guardian a couple times but nothing seems to be fixing it so far. Would anyone have any other ideas she can try?

A bandaid fix we've used so far is adjusting height in game

clear the Quest Guardian cache and re-create the guardian boundary, making sure you are standing when prompted to set the floor height.

In VRC Settings check your height (avatar poi t of view) is roughly your own standing height.

Okay so your best option of the 3 your thinking of buying is the Oculus Quest 2. Do you know the year when your dad bought that Cyberpower desktop? at times the default strap and face piece get uncomfortable(only during long sessions for me), smaller game catalog, some games run at decreased performance due to not having a pc if your using it standalone

You need to replace the batteries. I would recommend you buy rechargeable AA(AKA LR6 in some regions) batteries like Eneloop or Tenavolts. I recommend Tenavolts as they last much longer due to their constant 1.5 volt output (the required amount to run the Oculus Quest 2 controllers) other lower volt output batteries will work as the controllers contain a volt amplifier to compensate for that though they won't last as long as more of the battery's energy is being consumed.

Clear using VRC App: (1) Open Settings, (2) click Advanced Settings and (3) Clear Download Content Cache.

Alternatively clear manually: Use windows explorer to (1) locate folder c:\ users{username}\ AppData\ LocalLow\ VRChat\ vrchat and (2) delete folders cookies, httpcache, unity, vrchttpcache.

To clear space on your Quest HMD is as simple as uninstalling the App and reinstalling.

You have probably worked this out for yourself ... the reason the menu doesn't initially show is because the point of view of the small avatar you are using is too close to the actual menu as displayed. The way around this is to press the usual button to bring up the menu, then extend you arm as far forward as possible until your can see part (or hopefully all) of the menu to allow you to change avatar. If you are building a small avatar in Unity it is possible to locate the avatar point of view behind the head just enough (not too far else the head will obscure your view), instead of just behind the eyes, to avoid this problem.

So much easier just to find an Avatar World - either select the 'Avatar Worlds' category under the Worlds tab from your menu.

depends on (a) how many friends, (b) number of hours played, (c) avatar and/or world creation and upload.

For myself this took 200+ friends, around 1500 hours play (guesstimate for a Quest user) and uploading my own avatar. OR ... you could level your rank by purchasing a VRC+ subscription. Be aware though that rank can go down as well as up depending on how many blocks and bans you personally receive from other players.

I tried yesterday to make one of my avatar compatible and I have to overwork them in blender what it would to much work for me only that some quest users can see me not only as a robot. for my self I have a computer ...

I also don't use Oculus any longer because since after the CV1 Realese and the previous devkits I used in 2014, they have turned into bad direction with this Facebook force and I don't want to support that either.

I don’t think things will become that obsolete. Right now, it looks like they are still developing decent hardware and there are rumors of them working on full body tracking for Oculus Headsets.

There’s also AR they are developing which is fairly new tech

For an entry level headset, it’s great.

Once stand-alone and fbt get combined, it will also for even greater immersion.

Is there anyone who can help me with this VrChat issue? So I’m a quest 2 user and I decided to switch my vrchat to the open beta version. After I did this I tried joining public lobbies and every lobby I joined was empty. I then switched back to the main version of vrchat and this issue is still occurring. I have two accounts on my oculus quest that I play vrchat on and this issue is occurring on both accounts. Then I deleted vrchat on my main account and it will not let me download it back on my oculus. If anyone can help me with this problem please message me directly.

Well, it's a glitch you can do with the Quest 1and 2 it's kinda hard to explain but I'll try. So what is you up to a wall, move your body towards it and you can see through that wall or door. Ifyou move your body in a circle and turn your right joystick to that turn, you'll be able to go even further.

The price for an Oculus Quest 2 64GB version in canada on Amazon is fairly close to US pricing (299.99 for the same version) until you factor in taxes so I doubt that price is wrong.
