The audios would also crash people a LOT and I don’t mean occasionally it was a LOT.

none of the standalone headsets that're out could support audio without issues, they especially wouldnt attempt adding it back until they dropped support for quest 2 users at the very least (which they havent said anything about doing anytime soon) it will come back once the headset themselves are beefier though so just wait a few years or purchase a PC of some kind now that supports PCVR if you dont wanna wait

It's not that I've ever had the Quest 2 be "Blurry" it's more so that it's not as sharp in all aspects of the lens. When just looking around with your eyes for example. You can very easily tell where the lens starts to look less clear near the edges.

If you haven't tried the Q3 pancake lens then it's easy to just stay in the mindset that Quest 2's Fresnel lens aren't that bad. Which honestly for what the Q2 gives for price to performance is still kinda impressive how cheap it is to get into VR

Basically meta released and update a while back, v77 i think, that made the bluetooth paired devices tab inaccessible or completely removed it making it so if a device is paired theres no way to actually connect it. i wish we had atleast 15 mb to upload avatars since most avatars are getting alot more complex as time goes by. most pc avatars i convert to quest just barely reach 10 mb and thats after deleting everything that made up the avatar to be what it is. some body bases 10 mb by themselves its becoming more and more difficult as time goes by

its a lack of creators actually putting time into optimizing their works, rather then upping the limit people need to start optimizing their works to truly support quest

I have been lowering texture resolution from 2048 to 1024 which helps. You can keep more items on like clothes, weapons but at the cost of more triangles and meshes and material slots resulting in very poor performance avatar. But performance is more a bigger deal in larger groups. Plus the 10MB limit is set cause the Quest 2 which has been sold since mid- 2024.

I am not an optimizer's friend when making PC only avis Quest/ios compatible.

Remember 6GB of RAM for Quest 2. 4GB is reserve for Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Android mobile, and I believe iOs

But for better stability, and I apply this to any platform for vrchat, you can set avatar culling by how many people are show and the distance. Using Custom Safety settings for Shield Levels, and I set to Voices Only for nonfriends, unless I am speaking with them, or I deem them important. Better performaning avatar helps with stability, but a few traingles, or an extra material slot, an extra mesh isn't going to be hurting your performance compared to 10s for the latter two, or 10,000s more triangles.

You can also check the docs for vrchat with the limits, and if you want to make or edit avatars and worlds

Also reset the Cashed Data occasionally if you experience too many lag issues. It helps, but isn't required. Don't want to be loading your friends same avi everyday.

i dont know if this is right in quest general but im using a quest pro via virtual desktop to play vrchat, the thing is when using the index directly connected to my pc i have zero problems and can load a lot of other avatars in and go in higher perfomance worlds etc.. but when doing it with my quest pro via virtual desktop i lag out a lot, bad fps, lots of crashing, random black screens in my quest etc. pretty much unplayable lol (and this even when having only my avatar loaded in a not high performance world)

so now my question: is the reason behind the bad performance because of the wifi connection due to virtual desktop? i dont wanna get a better wifi for it without being sure thats my problem haha.
i only got the quest pro for face tracking, does this reduce the frames that much to make me crash?

My guess is that it is more related to VRAM problems (possibly just processing stress overall), Index has a significantly lower resolution compared to Quest Pro, especially if you are using a graphical setting in VD above medium, as the QPro's native resolution is between low and medium, 1800x1920.

I would also recommend in SteamVR having its resolution setting set to manual and below 100%

On an Index it makes sense to run it above 100%

It doesn't when using Virtual Desktop.

Was DS4 controller support removed? It was very useful for me, having horrible stock drift on my regular quest controllers. Hand tracking movement is too cumbersome IMO, so using a DS4 controller really helped; however, it's not working anymore.

You got make sure the meta quest app on phone is synced to the headset. If you go to the Files on the headset you click sync button on each file (cloud with arrow). Then go to Gallery on your meta quest app on phone.

I don’t believe so, if you’re using pcvr it looks like they come with a usb plug for connectivity. For quest standalone you just have to make sure they’re on the same wifi network. I would double check that as I don’t own them personally.

that's not something vrchat can actively moderate other then through player reports unless they decided to force everyone to verify their age with some for of verification like what they have for the vrc+ stuff which isnt something they want to do in general as it'd cut back on profits and look bad to investors

Trying recording yourself in your oculus menu on ur headset then if it’s muffled then it’s a headset issue, if it only happens in vrc then it’s a vrc issue

if your wifi supports 2.4 + 5g, you can see in your router

option, if get a "wifi extender" (I have one, can say about this and recommend it in amazon) the wifi network it creates a 2.4 only network and 5g only network

So sorry, yes it's really strange like on the quest 2 the audio of others was perfectly clean and crisp but on my quest 3, it sounds like you're speaking through like... A Bluetooth headset or earbuds - just very muffled and low quality

Anyhow, no, transparency and cutout has not been announced as planned, the graphics card inside Quests and such is missing the optimizations that make PC hardware handle it so easily, optimizations ripped out for power efficiency reasons.

Was DS4 controller support removed? It was very useful for me, having horrible stick drift on my regular quest controllers. Hand tracking movement is too cumbersome IMO, so using a DS4 controller really helped; however, it's not working anymore.
