FOR CHRISt sake. Please can someone assist me. i just got a quest pro and a link cable for the past days i haven't been able to fix this "cannot connect to meta services". i have tried restarting pc repairing going into services trying to do the oculus runtime fix trying to check for QWEV i did literally every single method and when i remove the files remote headset v55.dll or the other one it works but it will not let me connect my head set via cable nor air link i cant do shit about this i need help so bad i have a 1000$ head set just sitting here (yes i did use virtual desktop but cable is better and i can barely run virtual desktop). Your best option will be an entire new router with WiFi 6 capabilities. Traditional WiFi extenders will unfortunately slow down your internet speed in half, because of the old school extra hoops it need to goes through, unlike the modern mesh network, where it forms one whole network, and each mesh point all talk to each other directly, eliminating the hoops that slows down the speeds

Especially if there’s dead spots in your house, you can put a mesh point in whatever room that’s the dead spot, and instantly boost the signal while still getting the same speeds as if you were near the primary router

Again make sure whatever router you ended up getting says it has WiFi 6 support

Another thing to keep in mind, WiFi 6 range is only in the same room the router is in. So as soon as you leave that room, it’ll go back to the traditional 5Ghz band

So I bought the Meta Quest 3. I cannot for the life of me get the steam link in the headset to connect to my PC. It gives me the message "Streaming VR is only supported on the local network," whilst showing me that it has detected my pc in the computer selection. After hours of research and troubleshooting, my conclusion has been brought to the fact my PC does NOT have a WIFI adapter and I think because of this, I am "not" on the same network as my VR headset. But I use ethernet obviously. Everywhere online says I can have my pc hooked to my router with an ethernet cord and still use steam link. I have also tried to do the Meta Quest Link/Air Link option. That constantly says in the headset, "Searching for PCs" and then never stops. I'm stuck on whether or not I should buy a wifi adapter for my motherboard since it doesn't have one, or getting a new wifi router. Although, my wifi settings in my headset say my router is 5GHZ.

Have you considered trying something like this for your wifi signal? You probably won't need a whole wifi card installed in your PC, just an adapter like this I think

Your issue sounds more like you aren't connected to the same exact network (both need to be the exact same 5ghz or 2.4 ghz connections with the same password for example) as your headset
Because your PC being on ethernet on the same network as your headset on wifi is exactly what you want for Steamlink
Steamlink SHOULD work really well also as long as your wifi is 5ghz (and not 2.4 ghz) and your wifi is powerful enough (I recommend a SOLID connection of over 70mbps but more is recommended and you can get away with less)
I don't have Steamlink but maybe try googling how to connect to Steamlink correctly as well?

If you just want to know if they are good or not then yeah, I definitely prefer them, but Meta did make the tracking quality a whole lot worse and are still working back to how stable the launch versions were,

They will offset themselves slightly every now and then but go back to normal in a few seconds, which is way better than a few months ago when they would take turns basically crashing and needing to reboot.

But anyway, they are built better and they track regardless.

That doesn't have anything to do with the Quest Pro controllers.
Unless you heard the sort of common misconception that the Quest could track your hands and controllers at the same time, that feature only allows one to mix hand tracking and controllers, so your could hold a single controller and the other hand (not holding a controller) could be hand tracked.

When it comes to finger tracking in PC VRChat then Virtual Desktop, probably ALVR, are the only ways to do it, poorly.
Until VRChat releases the input update when hand tracking will actually be supported on PC:
