Hi, i have made avatars for a while now, Quest and PC.

But i have hit a wall with a friends avatar.

The body of there avart in quest always endup white. Other parts are ok, just the body.

I use standard light but i have tried others in the hope it would work.

Toon lit ended up not white but transformed the avatar into a sphere....

So i have restarted the project multiple time with the same issue....

As anyone had this problem before?

Does the PC version have things quest can't? For example, pc shaders, constraints, etc? The sdk is very picky; even if the avatar you're trying to upload doesn't have critical warnings, it still won't allow an upload to take place until any avatars with critical warnings are hidden in the scene. Again, it's usually things that are not supported on Quest that will stop you from uploading.

Try hiding the PC version in your scene, then try to upload quest one again.

i use a quest converter that makes all the textures quest compatible and helps me get rid of certain stuff that cant be on quest. it gives me a warning whenever it cant be uploaded. the converter works and stuff but all of a sudden the sdk doesnt let me upload the avi even if it is quest compatible

If you have another avatar in the hierarchy that is not converted to quest ( has pc shaders and too many physics bones/dynamic bones, you cannot upload the avi.

Remove the Pc avi from the hierarchy and see where that gets you

Might be neither.
The upload limit is definitely not changing, that 6GB of RAM on the Q2 (that VRChat doesn't get all off) fills up really quickly even with a 10MB limit (a large reason behind crashing). Only way they could do it is if they banned crunch compression.

And when it comes to VRAM I haven't seen them give any numbers yet, but on PC "good" ranking was possibly going to be 30-40MB, so wouldn't be all that surprising if that was at least Quest's "poor" ranking.

It's possible, but it will likely lead to issues when synchronizing both versions.
For example, your avatar's limbs might appear out of place, and avatar parameters (for animations or gestures) may not sync correctly.

Like for fallbacks they dont line up with the pc only avatars actual height. You could be trying to headpat the champagne bottle fallback and you would be effectively stabbing em in the shoulder or neck.

For example, opaque objects are rendered first, and transparent objects later. Changing the render queue setting isn't enough to make a shader transparent, unless the shader supports it!

Tip I've learned: If you want to have something transparent on quest, there's a sort of work around. Basically have it as VRChat- Mobile- Particles- Additive. Though it'll have to be a solid colour.

Why this may happen? - avatar's mouth slightly changes as soon as i starting to use microphone (after visemes applied) and never goes back to original basis. Nothing like that is happening if i use shapekeys by animations, which uses all mouth's vertices.

ik this is sorta late but I've bought some avis off of payhip and gumroad. u should always look for a avatar that says (UPLOADS) or it says in the bio abt doing uploads sometimes you have to join the creators server and make a ticket, n they'll help u from there. I'm currently quest only too btw lol
