Anyone have any ideas, for quest, I've converted all the materials to use the quest standard lit shader, but for one of the materials on the body it goes super dark. Looks fine with the standard unity shader so its not UVs, and the other material slots on the mesh are fine

PC, the only difference in the two projects, is pc is using poiyomi, and quest is using vrc standard lit

Figured it out, the vertex colors were black on the body and the VRC shader must multiply your texture with the vertex color

Perhaps the same as I issue I had 1 message up, in blender make sure your vertex colors (called color attribute in 3.2) are white

When was the last time you worked on them? Only thing I can think of is back when physbones was in beta they weren't limited, however at launch they moved to a few hard limits (ie 64 transforms total) and they are removed completely if they go over any of them.

This will have the exact limits listed for you to see. Otherwise, I'm not sure why your physbones would simply vanish.

Well, if you have dynamic bone scripts on your avatar, you'd neex to convert them to phys bones

On PC dynamic bones get converted to phys bones once you're ingame either way

On quest you'd need to convert the dynamic bone scripts to phys bone since it wouldn't let you upload otherwise

The SDK has a tool to convert dynamic bone scripts to phys bones you can use

Make sure to convert everything because even if you upload with dynamic bones on PC, you aint using it ingame, its all phys bones now

You could try mirroring the model if there's nothing on one side that isn't on the other

Since you're using blender
Go to the modeling tab, click the blue wrench on the right side of the screen, click "Add Modifier", select "Mirror", select which side you want to mirror (you should select X or Y depending on which way the model is facing since you don't want any legs up in the air), and then delete on the vertices on the side that is mirroring the side you work on

You could also always undo the mirror and flip the model to face the direction you want so it mirrors the side you wish

Well when I say I get into vrchat and I’m in an avatar and I go to join a game and then all of a sudden the avatar is stuck in desktop mode and I’m having to switch out of it and try and find out of all my avatars what one is not in desktop mode and the camera view being so high up

there is not a setting to do that on Quest because all of those avatars are hidden from being badly optimized so turning them all on automatically could crash the headset

okay so, I'm sure I'm trying to figure out how to make particle effects look good on Quest. no matter what i do, they always just come out as these blue squares. i've tried all sorts of different combos of settings that seem relevant: additive, multiply, alpha source from gray scale, alpha is transparency. I've tried with jpgs, transparent pngs.......but always blue squares.
I did find one reddit that said that the only ones that worked properly are the alpha blend ones...but apparently those actually aren't even allowed (which makes me wonder why it's an option under Mobile)
What am I doing wrong? 🙂

So, I don't know why, but for some reason VRChat's own quest shaders are being "unsupported" for uploading. I used VRChat's mobile particle shader, and it said that it isn't supported. It's under VRChat/mobile/particles/alphablend.

I imagine it's because people were using it to force transparency on avatars, so now it's not allowed period.

Nevermind, I just read the thing above. I'm done making stuff for Quest. So many avatars have effects that can't even be done anymore.

on my avatar, there has been this weird problem all along where, for the FIRST time you sit in any chair in a new instance of a world, you are suddenly hundreds of feet in the air, looking down on everything. you stay there until leaving the chair, and you exit in the normal spot. and for the rest of the time in that world, chairs work as they should.

Honestly 10mb is managable its more the physbone limitations that are screwing most quest avis over. Usually just adding them to hair and a tail will already completely max them out and u cant add more details to the avatars

if ur struggling to get below 10mb i suggest getting the polytool of gumroad i believe

Thought I'd check on here since I'm developing an avatar for a client that should work both on Quest and on PC, but I've ran into an issue where the thumbs up is left devastatingly flat. I've changed the proxy animations since those are the ones that are used by default, but it seems no matter how much I bend it, the animation never applies to the thumb.

Yeah, avatars cost a good 50-300+ dollars depending on complexity. But they do have a free request channel but its not very used

I'v added animations to a new layer on FX layer, and trying to control face expressions through the menu, variables switches, states changing, animations should be triggered, but face did not changes at all

still overpriced asf to charge 20$ to upload it, its not hard to move a slider in blendshapes to reduce polygons and switch the shader to toonlit dude. it taking awhile is a problem since you don't have a good pc. i could grab a model from booth (like Karin) and upload it in less than 2 minuets
