This might sound dumb but how do quest worlds make it to quest when it says its over 50mb... its says its quest but I try to join and it sends me back home saying the world basically is over the size limit O.o

make sure theres only 1 main camera and that all reflection probes are either disabled or baked. and try switching back to windows and back to android and reupload
how do i disable reflection probes?
the check mark in the inspector when you click them, if you dont have any then switching back and forth has a chance to fix it

does anyone know about object sync ? the objects in my world does not sync with pc. I don't know why because both projects have the same exact position and value. any solution ?
hierarchy on both quest and pc version of the world needs to be perfectly identical otherwise you may have desync issues such as that
this includes objects that are exclusive to either version, and you have to use empty game object place holders in lieu of them
and is for the entire hierarchy, not just the top level

well its hard to say because every time i make a quest update i have to duplicate the project and spend hours manually editing all materials
and other things
i am usng the same method every time
so i am unsure what could cause it
closest i could find was "world is using incompatible shaders" but havent been able to verify this with people in the know

the warning just shows up for any shader you use that's not on the vrchat mobile list

if nothings significantly changed, maybe it didnt properly reimport your assets when you switched platform
could see if reimporting the lightmaps help

what is really strange though is that VRChat Builder is showing me a warning about still a material using "Standard" shader but i can not find it mentioned in the World Debugger material warnings list
the scene descriptor has a list of materials, it might just be something cached there, try clearing it

people can not jump, get off chairs or drop portals in my world all of a sudden, although nothing changed to the scene descriptor
i checked it and for example the "disallow dropping portals" is unchecked but aperantly still in effect

A simple VRChat output log parser that shows you user activity in maps you have visited, as well as basic trigger, warning, error and exception summaries
this is sdk2 or 3?
might also be a result of desync between quest and pc versions of the world
I don't know for sure if the same applies in sdk3
but in sdk2 the scene hierarchies in both quest and pc version need to be 100% identical
there should be no desync, the only difference between the two is the materials
hierarchies are still identical
had some horrific nightmare problems with that in the past
so making sure it stays the same now 😄
this is odd btw it seems to work now on PC version atleast
can respawn, can leave chairs, etc
but for what you are describing to happen I can only imagine being caused by Udon behaviours crashing
though it shouldnt stop you from respawning

can also drop portals now, there was some reports of VRChat server issues last night, maybe it DID have an effect

would it make sense at all to re-bake the lights perhaps, or is that ill advised in quest version of the project?
i don't think its necessary as I've a few quest maps that ported over with lighting without much trouble
i'd try changing the shaders to lightmapped
i've seen someone else had this problem but i cant remember what they did to fix it
but i havent ran into it personally
well ill try hunting down that one Standard shader object which supposedly is still there and see what happens

@dusk field what shader are you using on your baked meshes? It might not be quest compatible. Try using one of the provided VRChat shaders like Standad Lite and see if that works.
@untold garnet depends on your specific triggers, I would say screenshot your inspector with expanded actions if you want troubleshooting.
@opal orchid theres no odd shaders in there, just standard lite and other mobile supported shaders
huh. Then next suggestion is try 1's VRWorldToolkit and see if that flags anything.
Done that with no results, this seems to be entering into bug territory as all the usual solutions do nothing here. Its making me quite sad

Next idea is to clear all your baked data, both from Edit->Preferences->Clear GI Cache and scene lighting data asset, and re-bake
Havent tried clearing gi cache. What is also super weird is thst it looks perfect in editor but not in game

It does sound like a weird bug, haven't seen that happen with anything except terrain details.
I can only think of it being an issue with the light maps itself that the quest client is having trouble with. Afaik, when the client can't load a texture it shows up as black. But if it was working for you previously and you haven't made any changes to the lightmaps, then its hard to say why its not working.

Oh huh missed that. Though a quick check on my own projects, I have RGBA for the directional component of the lightmap, and just RGB for the lightmap itself, which reflects the default texture import settings they have.
fwiw went to your map on my quest with adb logcat running and its throwing a whole bunch of errors from AdrenoUtils (adreno is the gpu used on quest) stating unknown format.
thanks for the tip, i actually think that was a spelling error on my end, i did run into this problem of RGB/RGBA the hard way before and i remember verifying it was set to the RGBA variant to make sure this didnt cause it
what i did now was just disable lightmap static on every object in the world, rebaking and basically setting maximum compression on the empty lightmaps, gonna try if that works
its not pretty but atleast would make the world visitable again for quest users until i find a more permanent solution
if you're disabling lightmap static on everything you dont even have to bake the lights

i have thoroughly verified this by comparing to previous quest versions of the world that did behave properly
so there is not really any reason to look for the problem there as i understand

you could try doing an upload with lightmaps cleared and just having the world as unlit, or rely on ambient lighting

this is starting to sound like perhaps the textures were not properly reimported when switching platforms
we thought it was the lightmaps originally, but it was the textures on the world itself
so maybe this rings a bell for you, but it turns out i forgot to "simplify" the material on the bar counter top, as in, how it is different from the other materials is
it has a metallic/smoothness map, it has smoothness set to .5 still instead of 0, it has a normal map
the other materials like the floor for example were simplified, metallic/smoothness and normal maps removed, smoothness set to 0
i dont think that would be the cause

when you go into the first long hallway, take the door on the left to the library
there's bookcases with shelves and books on them, do their textures show?
if you can even make it that far without seeing anything
so thats like first door on the right hand side when you go back towards spawn from the room with the pillars
with the exception of ui elements, the information panels and a stained glass on one of the walls, everything else is black

those books use another super basic shader like unlit/texture so i guess its sort of informative to know that not even that makes it through

also just something i noticed, but you might want to set the colliders you use for your proximity doors to the MirrorReflection layer so they dont interfere with raycasting for the menu's

at this point, it probably wouldnt hurt to try redoing the quest project from your pc build again
I think you can force a full rebuild of all assets by deleting the library folder in the project
but I have no idea if that will make a difference

just now after deleting library folder and reimporting everything, had to reconvert to Android version and set this to Gamma. Then i looked again and it set itself back to Linear
VRChat uses Linear colour space
its just a warning, and i'm pretty sure the majority of settings in project settings have no effect on what you upload anyway
you're just uploading an asset bundle, not an executable, and it'll use whatever vrchat's project settings were, for those that are applicable

cameras and rendertextures work on quest
im not sure what “/teleport to the camera” means exactly but you should be able to recreate a 3rd person thing or a screen that is fed by a camera that follows the player

Are you sure you have the render texture set on it on the quest version? Cameras with render texture set disable rendering to the screen on unity's side.

Whatever...NSFW avatars will always be around (for better or for worse)...VRC can’t monitor uploads well enough to sensor them atm. But you’ll have better luck finding info by hanging around udon dungeon or club worlds until someone whips one out.

it is blacklisted technically. however it does play “media” which you can then force it in as video
i use the same logic that 1 karaoke world uses to allow it to play media on both platforms
but in reality, quest has supported basically anything pc has, it is just handled differently
It can't use some direct links for youtube and other things
But if you reads the page some stuff it can do like straight up media

Ive been trying to join private worlds ive been invited to by clicking 'invite me' on the vrchat website, but when i look in game i dont have the notification for the invite, so i cant join the private world. Has anyone had this problem and been able to overcome it?

That's strange,, it still existed, and other people were joining at the time. It got to the point where it was a full room, but others said they had the notification either way

Does anyone here know a good water shader for quest worlds? I thought I found a good one but it turns out it doesn't actually work.
So it's my first time making a world quest compatible, and apparently the world is all "black" for some reason and I don't know why
You need to apply to the mobile plan, on the electricity bill..
check your texture import settings, and make sure you are not using anything with DXT, as those are not compatible with mobile hardware. If you want to use crunch compression make sure its crunched ETC, not crunched DXT.

its weird, my quest avatars project has no issues with it existing, but for my worlds project it seems to find constant agony whether I have any sort of gameobject using it in place
could it be because I imported a few fonts with it? (wait no, 'cause I deleted everything) basically every script spits out a ton of errors and I've updated to multiple different versions, reinstalled it, completely deleted the folder and redownloaded it, etc.

Idk about any other tips I could give you other than: If you're tryna join someone's private world, open tha menu, go to social, click on your friend, look around for a button that says Req Invite, click it, and itll send tha request to them. All you have ta do is wait, thought let you join idk it's up ta them

both sdks support android/quest so youre all good to choose whatever you like. it is recommended however to use sdk3 as itll be the norm soon

Check the materials/shaders used for those objects, and make sure the quest version of the world has a copy of those objects
Remember PC and Quest worlds are 2 seperate world files, so stuff can be different between them

@minor siren depends, the quest emulator is ment for quest games, not vrc quest so your results would vary a lot. if thats what youre talking about. try telling your emulator to use lower graphics

From what someone was saying earlier with Quest and PC versions doing different things, I'm testing this right now and it's also happening in my world, buttons turning on different objects than what they are supposed to, some things in different places etc. The quest upload is identical to the PC one as far as all the scripts go, so that should not be happening

NSFW avatars violate the ToS regardless if they're used in private instances. Same goes for worlds. Put simply may want to ask somewhere else as you won't get an answer here Or just follow the ToS.
The most popular one, Udon Dungeon, got too popular & they took it down...The only way to find NSFW stuff is to ask around, or to wait around in a club world until someone inevitably pulls up in one.

Depends on if you want an optimised mirror or a hq one
The only real thing you need to look out for is performance and how big the map is quest maps cant be bigger then 50 mb other than that you dont really need to do much other than maybe change the shaders to the quest ones as those run better on quest

the highest ive gotten is 244 audiosources in a 5 unity cube radius. so 244 and possibly more lol. but unity limit can only fire 32 sources at one given time (depending on load time) @primal bobcat

compress harder. the reason is mainly because of vram. so technically compression isnt a good idea. but its also not a bad idea

if you're on sdk3 you can just use the vrc unity/avpro video players to load tracks remotely
on sdk2 you can have direct links in unity video player components, but it'll be unsync'd
I'm not worried about them not hearing the same thing as other players, just want to have some background music playing for them

its relatively easy to make a live audio file from a youtube link that can work on both platforms
should be able to download the audio and upload it to a drive or even vocaroo.com
i highly suggest the vocaroo.com route. as it converts the audio file to something readible on quest no matter if it was QC or not

Standard doesn't have much an android platform can't run it's just that performance is another question, always much better to use shaders with smaller feature set that are more performant when it comes to something running on a mobile platform.

Well transparent things work on quest, it's just that for mobile gpus handling stacked transparency is much harder than for a desktop gpu so it generally should be avoided
Limited usage is alright as long as they don't overlap with multiple other transparent things
it's fairly limited -- mostly just on some floating text and logos
but I hear ya -- I won't be trying to simulate grass layers or anything like that

Hey folks, the object pickups in my world look different to quest users vs pc users, when I pickup say a bottle, the quest folks actually see a dice. The quest world I have has some difference to the pc world (e.g. additional text noting that particle effects are not on quest, particle effects/video player objects removed on quest). Do I need the quest world to be 1:1 with the pc world?

Yes, your scene hierarchy needs to be 100% identical, as network id's are generated on world load, and the order in which those id's are generated is not entirely clear, but its not based on the order you have your hierarchy arranged in. Therefore keeping them both identical is the only way to really ensure the network id's on both versions match properly
For objects that are omitted on either platform, you can just leave an empty game object in its place, or have it disabled etc

Could be a different number of issues. Try hiding chairs if you have any, if not try using control shift B input to swap your build to android rather then the button in the vrc sdk
Also could be an issue with custom shaders if you have any in your world

Delete your SDK and then re-install it. Then re-upload the world.
Very few people have a skybox issue related to that but it is possible. Check that after the first method i talked about.

Yo, quick question concerning Udon on quest, is _inputFieldText not usable or something ? I have a keyboard that i'd like to use for quest but it seem to simply not be working and at this point I don't know anymore
